I hope they wash the inside of the reservoir before they refill it.
Ridiculously wasteful.
Seems crazy to me. Assuming it’s an open air reservoir, imagine birds and other wildlife will do their business in the water, or right on the shore, so that it will seep into the water.
And imagine leaves from trees, pollen, dust, sticks, and other items end up in the water too.
Assuming the water is treated before it’s pumped out to customers, one person urinating is not going to pollute the water supply. Certainly not pollute it any more than can happen from animals or other sources.
Can you say “Parts per Million” boys and girls????
And clean out the dead animals that are undoubtedly at the bottom of it.
Isn’t urine sterile?
they also need to hire some liberals to shoo away all the birds that fly overhead so they don’t crap in it
How do we get people this stupid in charge of things
Just explain to the public that THE WATER GOES THROUGH A TREATMENT PLANT before it is piped into the system
Why is potable water left exposed? I mean unless this guy has a HUGE bladder I’m not sure how much his relieving himself would effect 38M gallons, but if it is exposed to the open air he isn’t the only living organism relieving himself in that water.
The security state tries to protect everything, and will wind up protecting nothing.
So did/does actress Sarah Miles.
Can you say Parts per Million boys and girls????
How about parts per billion? That might even not be fine enough.
What was W C Fields' saying about water? Something about fish fornicating in it.....?
Cross linking a thread from yesterday if anyone is interested in the comments.

It could have been worse. He could have thrown a Baby Ruth bar in it.
He should have used the same sanitary restrooms the government built for the fish, frogs, raccons and birds.
/s
More on the order of parts per Trillion
AND - its a good thing there are no fish, or birds or squirrels or coyotes peeing in the reservoir.
Assuming 1 piss = 1 quart, I’d say 1 part to every 152,000,000 parts.
But, all of you talking about dead birds and wildlife have to remember that birds and wildlife are noble life forms and humans are not.
What a bunch of morons running THAT water agency.
Gandhi would still not drink another guy’s pee.
