this is because it came out that Harry Reid was involved.

Exactly.

And his involvement was first reported here at Free Republic I believe.

Last nite I was watching Hannity (and then Gretta who said that Hannity was the first one to report on this...I guess they don't know about the internets...) and he and Greta both had the rancher family on their shows from the battleground.

It's interesting that Hannity and the Bundy's didn't talk at all about the involvement of Reid but the farmers did speculate that this could be a land grab for some governmental reasons.

Then Niger Innis came on with Hannity and they spoke a bit and then he mentioned Reid and his son's involvement and Hannity interrupted just as he was finishing his last sentence and the info (IMO the MOST important info about this gov action) didn't even seem to compute to Hannity's brain.

He just went on to say that they will have more on this on Monday (as if we don't need to watch over the weekend) and then as an afterthought he said they will be monitoring the situation over the weekend.

Hannity needs to get his crew that monitors Free Republic to be a little more through so he can be on top of the major stories that are reported on so much quicker here at FR than anyplace else.

Impound Operation Concluded

Statement from Director of the Bureau of Land Management Neil Kornze on the Cattle Gather in Nevada:

As we have said from the beginning of the gather to remove illegal cattle from federal land consistent with court orders, a safe and peaceful operation is our number one priority. After one week, we have made progress in enforcing two recent court orders to remove the trespass cattle from public lands that belong to all Americans.

Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public.

We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner.

Ranching has always been an important part of our nation’s heritage and continues throughout the West on public lands that belong to all Americans. This is a matter of fairness and equity, and we remain disappointed that Cliven Bundy continues to not comply with the same laws that 16,000 public lands ranchers do every year. After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, Mr. Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially.

They confiscated about half Bundy’s cattle, which will auction off for about what they said he owes. They destroyed a large part of his fencing and other infrastructure. They tasered peaceful family member(s). They demonstrated that they could bring in other agencies, such as FAA to enforce their will. They got done what they wanted.

Now the question remains, what will Harry Reid direct them to do next?

The whole thing doesn't make sense to me yet.

• I don't see how the Fed's can back off without setting the precedent that none of the ranchers need to pay grazing fees.
• I don't understand what Bundy meant by "BLM was managing him out of business".
• I don't understand whey Bundy didn't sue the BLM if they were failing to live up to BLM's responsibilities.
• I'm still unclear on the whole solar business and whether it's was Bundy's land or the other end of the county.
• I'm unclear on the land deal with the Chinese company and whether that included the Bundy's land or not.
• I'm unclear why they sold it at such a discount to it's appraised value, but there are often legitimate reasons for communities to offer land deals to attract businesses. Would this have produced jobs and justified the deal, or was this stricly political pressure ala Reid?

The farmers yesterday called the truck with the backhoe on it a “rendering truck.”

The chasing them with the helicopters probably caused some of the cattle to die because of stampeding in that hot weather.

I think they wanted to do all of this on the sly...yea right not with us watching!

The ranchers said they were putting them in corrals.

Probably to fatten them up to butcher to serve in Reid’s mobster friend’s casinos.

Just a little perk for Reids RICO buddies for all the dirty work they have done for him. You know, stealing elections, throwing eggs at Tea Party Express busses and blaming it on Andrew Breitbart etc etc...

Actually, the story came out on FR at least an hour an a half before that on another thread related to the case. There seems to have been plenty of time for Fox to look into it. Perhaps they’ve been pressured to hold off.

I expect you are correct. This is test #1. They didn’t want to test their tyranny in a city...get too many of Obama’s sons killed. So, they tested resistance in a country neighborhood. Just going to make country citizens more aware of Obama’s tyranny.
