So true. The Democrats deserve the “Profiles in Scourge” award for
that bit of political nastiness. If GHW Bush was a hero for reversing
his tax pledge then what would that make the tax loving ‘Rats
who called him a liar when campaign season came along?
And, BTW, wasn’t JFK, the namesake of the award, the same
POTUS who sang the virtues of and signed a bill lowering taxes
in the early 1960s?

Reagan had to take Bush as VP to get eastern moneymen to not scuttle Reagan. I have never looked on the Bush’s to be a defender of our Constitution for the ordinary USA citizen. The family has stronger ties to European and Arabic and South of the border people than on the ordinary USA Joes.
