Those that do show up are voting for welfare freebies.

Runt Paul is a moron just like his old man.

Well, it was the only strategy left after our President took the route of voting “present” every time he need to obscure his real views.../sarc

Seriously though, apparently there’s a lot of 110%’ers in here. We all had at least one coach for whom 100% wasn’t enough....had to give 110%. Not sure how you get your ACU rating up there though?

Extra credit?

Dunno. Reagan is our Universal hero, but gave illegals an Amnesty. Rand doesn’t want that, as well as wanting a full on closed border fence, but somehow he’s the “open borders”/villain here.

I can only assume some kind of “Paul Derrangement Syndrome” or blatant GOP-e gamesmenship.

""The reason Al Qaida is over here is because we're over there.""

Wasn't that the payback reason that Al Qaida gave when they hit the WTC? That makes Paul's father correct but he's not running, his son is.

RE: From a 2012 gallup poll the breakdown is 40% conservatives, 35% moderates and 21% liberal.

When they ask questions using the terms — Conservative, moderate and Liberal, do they DEFINE their terms?

I’ve spoken to some young “conservatives” who tell me they support gay marriage and abortion.

How “conservative” are these responders?

You are missing my point; it doesn't matter whether these people are conservative enough. There are not enough "pure" conservatives to gain the majority needed to gain the White House and Congress just by ourselves. Unless we want to live our lives being ruled by 0bama and his minions (or his liberal successor) we have to "do the math" and accept libertarian as political allies.

Conservatism is a great teacher: look what Reagan did. Jimmy Carter was screwing up the country much like 0bama is doing today. Many liberals and moderates questioned Reagan's plan when he was first elected but the manner in which he turned the country around made believers of most.

A small government, fiscal conservative can turn this country around. In doing so he will silence the would be marxists on the left and open the door for greater acceptance of conservative principle by confused moderates.

It can only happen if everybody respects the math...

They won’t vote for anyone that doesn’t support queer marriage, abortion, drugs, and lots of free stuff.

None of which Rand supports. Of course, he doesn't have to MENTION any of that stuff to get those "skulls full of mush" to give him a standing ovation either.

Your derangement is getting worse by the thread. Seek professional help.

Sincerely.

Nope, he just tells them he’d make dope legal and they clap like trained seals.

Wait, first you tell me to stop lecturing, then you agree with other posters that the blame for zero belongs to the electorate? That was my point.

Actually, he got the standing ovation over the NSA thing.

As for dope, yeah... How dare he want to let States decide an issue that the Constitution doesn’t give the FedGov the power to regulate.

Maybe he just wants all those white girls to get stoned and have sex with black jazz musicians...

“This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others.” Harry J. Anslinger, testimony to Congress, 1937

You could add that to your rants.

None of which Rand supports.

Rand Paul has most certainly come out in support of gay marriage in the political battle, and against those of us who oppose it.

"I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues," Paul advised. "The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues."

Troll.

“I believe in traditional marriage,” he said during an interview with Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association. “I really don’t understand any other kind of marriage. Between a man and a woman is what I believe in, and I just don’t think it is good for us to change the definition of that.”

Paul noted that his state, Kentucky, had approved a constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex marriage.

This would be great if he were taking our conservative message to them.

Instead, Rand Paul is trying to build the political political support needed so that he can defeat conservatism within the GOP and make it a rino/libertarian party, and totally eliminate the Reagan wing.

Yet there you see his words in post 73, taking a position against the party platform against gay marriage.

“”I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,” Paul advised. “The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But.....””

Rand isn’t running for Governor, Rand is a Senator voting on federal law, and is running for president, gays in the military, abortion on federal lands, gay marriage in the military and in federal employment and in immigration are not “state” issues, they are issues of bigger and more costly federal government.

Clearly a guaranteed losing formula for the GOP

I'm with you. Blacks don't belong in the GOP. Nor Jews neither. It should just be WASPS - you know, for purity.

Rand Paul is slowly revealing himself to be an overachieving mediocrity and a panderer.

Yes, and that is why he is melding with, and sitting at the feet of the GOPe.

Paul shares many qualities with Romney, except that he appears more eager to win GOPe approval.
