Cell phone commuunicatioms at 40000 feet? Some passengers may have survived and fought back. Game of chicken perhaps with terrorists threatening to run it into the ocean and then finally doing it? Like pennsylvania? Perhaps the intention was to capture it and the plans went awry and it got dumped. Also might explain why al qaeda has not claimed credit for what they may consider to be a botched job. Also they probably want to capture more planes.

I dont think they would have flown the plane for hours just to crash it into the Indian Ocean..I think that by bringing it to 45,000 feet, the passengers died(And I hope they did NOT suffer, I just hope that God was waiting for them as the entered heaven and that there was no pain) which was the hijackers intention all along, then they take the plane to Pakistan or Iran, refuel it, do a nice paint job on it, rename it American Airlines or whatever, and in a few months, bring it here and blow it up, my guess if I were a betting person, Wall Street..big impact, deaths in the thousands

You’re probably right, that they had other intentions for the ac, but I’m guessing they thought they would have a plane with full fuel tanks, and they could easily make it to one of those places. It turned out they only had 7 hours worth of fuel. Where they gonna go now? On the charts that I’ve seen, that would just barely get them to the Pakistan frontier. I’d like to know, if the plane was on Malaysian military radar, why didn’t they scramble some aircraft of their own and investigate?

Maybe Malaysia shot it down but won’t admit it, that is possible as well..so they are going to do this dog and pony show, putting the families through hell, already knowing where the plane is? Not sure anything is possible at this point. If I had to bet on which pilot would be the likely one to be involved in this, Id say the co-pilot..local news here was talking about his family, saying how the co-pilot is a “Good Muslim” who is recently engaged..Good Muslim, gee, a good Muslim who is engaged to be married but has girls in the cockpit and is a “Ladies man” sounds like those Muslims you hear about, all about being clean and pure yet they go to strip clubs and get hookers every night

Check out post #5. I think I was wrong about how far the ac could go on the fuel it had. It looks like it could make it to Iran.

Would you mind explaining to me how a plane can be used as a weapon just by painting it or changing the logo on the shell, as some here have suggested? I guess I am wondering how the plane would enter an airspace and the local tower officials wouldn’t know who the plane belongs to or where it originated? Don’t planes file a flight plan ahead of time?

Sorry if I seem ignorant, because I am when it comes to airline protocol and procedures. :)

If that plane made it to Iran we have a BIG problem..that is my worst fear, Iran..they have been picking up their rhetoric this week, talking about “Waiting for word to destroy Israel” now destroying Israel, they don’t stand a chance, that plane wouldn’t be allowed in, would be shot down immediately..but if they really wanted to, take that plane into New York and blow it up at Wall Street, you know how huge that would be

I still think it’s deep sixed, but until we find the debris field or something, we can’t confirm that either. It seems like if it flew that far to Iran or Pakistan, it would have been intercepted, or you would hope so. Somebody would have noticed. Malaysia should have intercepted it, really.

If it crashed into the sea why didn’t the ELTs automatically activate?

They would but would not be received if deep in the ocean.

The average depth in the Indian Ocean is around 12,000 ft.

Man’s heart can be so evil. You want to off yourself that’s your choice, a selfish one depending, but... there were 200 plus passengers on this plane and a pilot might have decided to kill himself with no regard for their lives. I can’t imagine the panic they would have experienced. Can you just imagine? When you board a plane you are trusting there’s a reputable pilot with no ill-will towards you. A thought otherwise never enters your mind. The world today is enough to make even a sane person paranoid.

They know what happened as soon as it did but this keeps the stupid entertained and occupied with redundant media coverage, maps, charts, special guests and authorities, possible theories and intrigue while the criminals do thier work on other fronts here at home

"Still waiting for someone reporting a tractor beam pulling the plane into a UFO's hanger deck."

--------------------------------->

*snicker* I'm not saying a tractor beam {pulled} the plane into a UFO's hanger deck...

...but a tractor beam pulled the plane into a UFO's hanger deck.

(to paraphrase the UFO guy!}

The climb to 45,000’ (if it even happened) means nothing. It, by itself, has no effect on hypoxia.

"I’m waiting for the theory mongers to say “I am an idiot!” when the mystery is resolved and it doesn’t match their ridiculous theories."

-------------------------->

*snicker*

When all is said and done, I'm one of those "theory mongers" who will probably say "I am an idiot".

Just ask Mr. h!

So, I claim first place in theory mongering, so I'll be first in something re: this Malaya episode! <8^)

It was hijacked. The passengers, after many hours, got fed up and fought back. The plane crashed before getting to the final destination.
