Always sad to read these stories -— not because they died but because they were so alone that no one noticed.

She had no one in the world who cared for her.
Very sad.

I’m surprised the IRS didn’t find her before anybody else.

A good reason not to sign up for automatic bill pay.

Maybe she had those directly deposited into the same account mentioned here.

Anyone think that they should pull the voting records for her district and see if she has been ‘waking up’ to do her civic duty??

Five years of not paying property taxes and no sheriff knocked on the door?

They were probably all direct deposit. The government has had that for many years.

Property taxes are commonly paid out of escrow collected by the mortgage holder.

It reminds me of when Rod Taylor disappeared in the Time Machine, and his friend Alan Young kept paying the bills.
This woman sitting there is like Rod Taylor unseen in the time machine in his house.

Mine is paid via an escrow account attached to my mortgage- as long as I pay my mortgage, I’m paying My property taxes too. As well as my homeowners insurance.

I bet she had an impressive stack of junk mail at the PO. I wonder if they needed to lease a storage unit for it?
