“Of course, nobody will be able to afford to buy anything, but hey, you have to break some eggs if youre going to make omelets...”
That’s something that the Tariff-ers either forget or simply don’t get to begin with. Add cost of any kind to anything and the consumer takes it in the shorts. You’re not punishing the company that built them or the government of the country where they’re built, no, just the end user who pays the freight.
Sure, go ahead, throw massive tarrifs on all imported goods. Watch the prices on TVs, electronics, cars all shoot up. “Good” you say and now all of these things will now be made in America again? Do you realize what you’re saying there? That to bring those industries back to this country the product is going to have be priced, sometimes significantly, higher.
One word: "Retaliation." We won't be able to sell a damn thing in those countries when they jack up their tariffs on us.
As far as Bath House is concerned, his solutions to financial problems can be found at the same locale as where the killer of Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson is. Or it can be found in the part of the universe where magnetic monopoles exist or antimatter predominates.
Interesting that there comments at the source aren’t enabled. The Dems never produced a budget and only ever planned on hugely increasing spending and debt through continuous resolution. The GOP hasn’t been serious about cutting anything and just goes along with whatever they are handed. Look at them completely rolling over at the debt limits. Their plan to give Obama whatever he wants to keep from being labeled as obstructionist clearly isn’t even working for the toadie who wrote this article. Obama’s only (very cynical) attempt at “compromise” was his sequester idea which cuts the military and some meaningless social cuts that allow the Dems to scream at how mean the GOP is. That wasn’t even supposed to happen.
In fact, when they have had to pay for it, they've gone cheap.
Recall Michelle's birthday party, when invitees were told to eat beforehand, as no food would be served?
