This is getting VERY interesting.
There is a lot of water called the Atlantic Ocean next to CT state, seems to me like a lot of boating accidents where people go out on the water with their guns and they happen to fall overboard when you snagged that angry oceanfish on your line....
Last chance before WHAT?
This does not count the people who have said items that CT doesn’t know about.
The state is trying to start a fight I doubt they can handle.
Somebody needs to tell the state of CT officials that the tribe has spoken.
MOLON LABE Connecticut.
Reading the letter posted, they are not required to affirm that you have done any of the options listed. If they ask you, you could say you simply removed the offending article from the state of CT.
My guess is that nothing will happen unless they have some interest in you for another reason, and then will use the late application as evidence to be used in obtaining a search warrant.
My guess is that the next step is the state offering rewards for information on who has guns.
But the state is kinda screwed as there has been in place no law requiring people who have at one time owned firearms to report their sale or loss to the government. So the state, if they’re sending these to everyone they THINK owns an EBR, is intimidating people they’re GUESSING are required by the law to register.
Now another article I read said this applied to people who applied for registration and were refused. That’s different, it’s going to be pretty hard to claim you just filled out an application (and probably paid a fee) to register a weapon you don’t possess. (So they’re actually being punished for attempting to comply. Not a good incentive for the state to create.)
I give them a lot of credit. This is how all of New England USED to be.
Citizens Told They Have One Last Chance to Register Guns
Ready for another Boston Marathon Bombing-type city-wide lockdown? They will comply.
i welcome the reset. its gonna happen sooner or later. live free or die.
How did the state know who to send these letters to?
You forget their are SO many State Departments. I can see it now... Hmmm, how's your CT income tax forms? Has your Hot Rod been inspected? is your boat/snowmobile/atv registration up to date? You are applying for a hunting or fishing license? Gee I see that something isn't in order...

And the officials won't be looking for terrorists. They will be looking for normal people. This won't go over well.

Isn’t it settled by SCOTUS that felons are not required to register firearms because they would incriminate themselves?
