“..Flat Tax does not, ..”
Can you tell me, in a nutshell, why?
Or do I have to read a book on it? :)
Flat Tax is an INCOME TAX.
An income tax cannot be “administered” without the IRS to adjudicate each taxpayer’s income and the tax owed thereon. Therefore, the IRS will still be your “partner” in all financial matters.
FairTax is collected by the states in exactly the same manner that state sales taxes are collected. Individuals, who do not own a retail business will never have to deal with a taxing authority.
I’d suggest you do your own research and decide for yourself which tax plan — FairTax, Flat Tax or income tax — best suits your needs and desires.
For me, FReedom is the issue. Under FairTax I will be FRee to work, save and invest TOTALLY FRee of the heavy hand of government; paying taxes at the SAME RATE as every other American.
That, my FRiend, is FReedom!
The tax which each individual is bound to pay ought to be certain, and not arbitrary. The time of payment, the manner of payment, the quantity to be paid, ought all to be clear and plain to the contributor, and to every other person, so that the tax payer is not put in the power of the tax gatherer.
Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations, 1776
There is NOTHING that can ever be said to justify the income tax and the IRS!
Thanks for you input. Very informative and interesting.
The last time I really delved into Flat Tax vs. Fair Tax was when Duncan Hunter was running. He was for Fair Tax, and I had much respect for him.
It is time for you and your FRiends, family, and business associates to get into the FRay!
We need all the help we can get!
Thanks.
