Exactly! Not to mention killing the poor cashiers.
Can't blame Walmart. The cost was less than a burnt out store and the risk of injured workers.
agreed.. the issue is whether or not these people should be cut off, not whether or not the big evil Wal-Mart should eat it, which I understand they already have.
those people knew they were stealing, they knew the cards were not loaded for that amount of purchase...
they should be cut off and I am very happy they will be.
“The person who decided to honor the unlimited SNAP cards likely saved lives.”
They should have just allowed a minimum purchase amount with each card until the system was restored to proper function. Maybe $200 or so. If they riot, call in the squad from Angola State Prison. They can handle uppity yutes.
There will be hell to pay when Sharptongue and Hijackson take up the cudgel for the greedy ones cut out of EBT.
Walmart would have needed ten times their usual security.
The computer "glitch" was discovered when someone overran their available funds, realized it, and was not flagged by the computer. Word quickly spread by ObamaPhone, and the store was overrun by minority shoppers within a short time.
When the store recognized the problem things quickly got ugly when they tried to reign in purchases. To prevent severe civil unrest Walmart just ran the cards.
I do not understand how any of this can be considered Walmart's fault.
There were two stores where this happened. One was in Springhill, LA, and the other in Mansfield, LA. They are about 60 miles apart, as the crow flies.
What exactly did Walmart do to try to reign in the purchases? What were the state procedures they were supposed to follow?
I have a hard time believing Walmart couldn't call up the local police force and ask for assistance. The police here practically station people at Walmart because they generate so much tax revenues.

But there wouldn't have been riot conditions in the first place if Walmart hadn't made the decision to go ahead and allow purchases without limits.
Mostly Maniacs and some from Farmington.
How long before the Holder ‘Justice” Department rides to the rescue?
Blaming WalMart? You are well named. One sad American indeed.
Walmart didn’t follow the guidelines. Fault has nothing to do with it.
