Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it, he said. Thats run its course and Jeff and I have been talking for some time about different ways of using me. I give him credit for acknowledging this. Too many liberal hosts will just hang around for years and blame the audience's "lack of sophistication" for their low ratings.
I thought Piers was OK as a judge on America's Got Talent. Brits are good at puncturing the egos of the inflated self-esteem crowd, and he had a Simon Cowell-esque manner about him. He should stick to light entertainment, where his insufferable smugness has comedic value. :)
