Declaration of Dependence
oooooh that is good, I can see it, but it would need to be financed by taxpayers, and if nothing else brought sanity to the idea you balance a budget and don’t spend your way into prosperity, this idea would in short order.
Those on the payer side would revolt, or as you put it, necessarily be physically separate actually perhaps physically surround the others so none escape the results of their Declaration, which would be instant uncivil war.
No one desires uncivil war, but why involve the party that knows the value of money, work, property, and human rights. Let the other party hash that out, and then maybe we can get on with life as it once was.
It seems on the face of it that this involves primarily cities/cesspools, vs those who produce and or provide the food and water that sustains them. It is unfortunated that many good folks live within the boundaries of said cities because of employment.
Great idea, and deserves more thought.
Don’t know how after reading and rereading that unfortunated escaped.
“Never happen. Congress will not approve it.”
Then, whether red or blue “states”, maybe they should opt to just stay out. Given how things are today, why stay in?
It could almost be a good thing but ONLY under the condition that 5 other states get absorbed so that we stayed at 50. RI, DE, VT, CT, NH.
We would lose the potentially conservative NH, but gain a likely conservative East CA state.
One criteria must be met before any of this happens. The initial balance of senators will have to be maintained; six Dems and six Repubs.
And even if this ballot passes, I am sure that some judge will rule unconstitutional.
Going to extremes to cover obamas butt for his “57 states” remark.
Sheesh, wita. Don't give the lexiCON artists of the left another downtrodden collective, The Unfortunated - those without fortunes. They'll be no escaping that gang.
They’ll
(How did that escape. This stuff’s contagious.)
: )
“Going from 2 Senators to 12?”
Your assumption being 12 rat senators? If you took Frisco and LA out of the equation, you might find a few Republican senators in the mix.
Yeah, big states are the problem.... look at Texas. Oh, wait, that’s not a good example. Look at any state run by Marxists, regardless of size.
I still contend, despite the contagion, it’s a great idea that time and conditions have caused to surface.
There is no peaceful solution anymore. The destructionists have been given too much for too long and theres no taking it back by reasonable means.
However, I disagree with your use and context of the term "reasonable". I argue that there is legitimate and well thought out reasoning behind armed revolt... Our history as a nation, the war for independence, stands as proof of this.
That is exactly where I was going with that as well - anything to make anything Obama say true.
Six states would be too many—how about just two? North and south California? We in the south are very different from the folks up in the Bay area—we don’t mind if you call LA—LA. Up there they have a fit if you call Frisco—well, frisco. In South California we could make Santa Barbara the state capital! Our Motto “Kawabunga!” the state rodent Mickey Mouse. We could legalize gambling like Nevada and lower the drinking age to 18—maybe legalize Pot. Then, take all the restrictings and crippling Union rules off Hollywood so it could be great again. Hey, maybe they would move the Tonight Show back to the west coast.
How about we make Jay Leno Governor! We could even declare a unilateral Declaration of Independence from North California! Maybe do it on April First. With The provisional Governor Jay Leno, Lt Governor, Kelsy Grammer. perhaps you have some ideas for the new state of South California?
“However, I disagree with your use and context of the term “reasonable”. I argue that there is legitimate and well thought out reasoning behind armed revolt... Our history as a nation, the war for independence, stands as proof of this.”
I don’t find anything in what you said to disagree with.
