I went to Cuba on a mission trip and most Cubans are very cynical of their government. We don't like the parts of our government that we have to have interaction with; the post office, DMV, and now 0bamacare are not respected and have become a punchline. Imagine if just about EVERYTHING was run by the government and it is no wonder why the average Cuban doesn't like their government very much.
the average worker makes about $10 a month, a doctor $20-25, but the police get $50; and like us they know why you pay the police so much more than everyone else.
Guess there's not much difference between the mentality of 'liberal elites' and 'communist elites'... Our liberal elites would do this to us if they had the power.
It's the favorite horse for totalitarians to ride because it so effectively fools people in the 'take over' stage. You're right Texas - it's evil.
Totalitarianism in all it’s forms is evil.
Progressive, Socialist, Marxist, Communist, Fascist, Dictator, Islamist
ALL EVIL.
RE: Soooo, why dont we end it by ending the embargo against Cuba?
How sure are we that the goods coming from America will be used to help the starving instead of the elites?
I don’t think this is news is it? Kids only get milk til age 7. Thats been going on forever.
Unlike aid, which would be controlled by the Cuban State, at least some of the goods and revenue from commerce would, inevitably, make it into the hands of average Cubans.
How can trade be done with Cuba under a regime that controls everything?
What is the State going to do with goods? We’re not talking about “free stuff” that they can steal and re-sell. They will need stuff to trade.
In the end, they’ll need the average Cubans to handle the stuff, and create the goods (cane sugar, among other things...). They will give them some sort of access to the goods.

I heard Mayor Bloomberg is concerned about the excess sugar in the monthly rations and positively livid about the amount of salt.
A modest proposal: the peons should just live on air; it is cheaper and very healthy.
