They believe Cruz and his supporters are quislings and that they are so much smarter than the rest of us.
They are trying hard to be subtle but they still bring the fail.
I have to wonder if they are paid plants or really that arrogant and stupid?
Smarmy bastards don't impress me one bit.
Sorry Mr. Sowell. Not buying it. Running for President is going to be Cruz’s political IQ test. If he runs, he fails and I’m betting he’s not going to run.
We’re not going to get anywhere with Rino Leadership. It will be the same only this time they’ll say — “but we have to govern”.
Get rid of the Rino Leadership. Through primaries or 3rd party runs to split the vote .... get them out, clean the stables.
Actually, Cruz is the smartest person in Washington, D.C.
One of the best students, EVER, at Harvard Law School; national champion debater in college, Clerk to C.J. Rhenquist; undefeated at the U.S. Supreme Court; and, defeating an established GOPe favorite for the U.S. Senate. I’m sure there is much more.
And just what are the credentials of those who claim to be smarter than Ted Cruz?
Sowell Joining the Eat Your Own GOPe club. I have less respect for him, he no longer thinks outside the Gope planter box.
Cruz is a breath of fresh air, not only doing what he said he would do, but giving the GOP CPR its lost 2 national elections in a row and surrendered on every big position.
Without Cruz and a handful of others, the GOP is moribund.
I don’t understand the latest catch phrase
Cruz is so unpopular he needs a food taster!
Cruz is up there not to win friends who act French retreating and surrendering. He is there to show them how a Texan stands tall in the saddle and remembers the Alamo.
Never say die, never surrender, don’t give up. American values Gen. Patton lived by.
Good question. Probably their brand of scotch.
Imagine if we had a real opposition party in this country instead if one Senator
John Paul Jones - I just begun to Fight and
Gen. Anthony McAuliffe He is famous for his single-word reply of “Nuts!” in response to a German surrender ultimatum.
bump
Dr. Sowell, we don’t have to lay down and act like Road Kill

“Imagine if we had a real opposition party in this country instead if one Senator”
*******************************************************************
Imagine if more of us were actually working to finish the task of turning the Republican Party into a real opposition party instead of simply dreaming about an opposition party.
Please take me off the Sowell list. I can’t go on reading this type of thing as it is just too heartbreaking.
is there nobody immune to this delusion?
This is the second time I have disagreed with Mr. Sowell. The first was last November 11 where in a two part column that didn’t mention Ted Cruz by name, he took apart Ted Cruz’s failed effort to defund Obamacare as damaging to the Republican party. I think Mr. Sowell has a problem with Ted Cruz.
Agree with your assessment wholeheartedly my friend.
Either that or Sowell has sided with the GOP-E, and I think they are big government, and that big government is socialist.
And the socialist camp is the camp that produced Hitler who was leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party....Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei...NA..ZI
Thanks for the PING!
Thanks jazusamo for posting another great thread from Dr. Sowell!
Travis, Sowell didn’t need to use Cruz in the way he did to make the point that Obama is on the fast track to becoming a dictator. Sowell’ s suggestion that by taking a principled stand he will ultimately be personally responsible for Obama’s ascendancy to tyranny is probably the stupidest and most irresponsible thing Sowell has ever said.
Sowell should instead have pointed out that McConnell broke his oath not to cave to Obama and send him a clean debt bill, and Sowell has the temerity to call Cruz on the carpet for refusing to go along with McConnell’s treachery.
This article is utter nonsense and I think someone has infected Sowell’ s previously brilliant mind.
The money has gotten everywhere.
But we are bullish, not bearish, on the Tea Party. The GOP-e and Sowell and others think we should abandon the Tea Party because its candidates can’t win. We think we should stick with the Tea Party because its candidates can win.
We both want the liberals out.
But as I’ve said before, it has become a turf war to the GOP-e. We don’t even think of it in those terms. They are shallow and want to keep the power and the money. We are principled.
Also, if Cruz is looking out for himself, it’s because he knows he’s the one to lead us out of our trouble. He believes in his cause and in himself. How else would you want him to act if he believes he’s right? Buy TV ads for the other guys?
