Can’t blame him for being against it, but he didn’t want to invest in a second span back when it would have headed this off at the pass. OTOH, I don’t want to pay for a new bridge which is entirely unneeded. Years ago, before 9/11, there was a lot of traffic from time to time consisting of Canadian visitors paying the toll just to buy cheaper gasoline, and driving back. :’)
