...there has been plenty of bad blood between the NRSC and McConnell and the Senate Conservatives Fund, which backs conservative candidates who do not want to get co-opted by the Republican establishment.

This is why I want to see the elimination of elections for Senators. I'd rather see the local politics that comes with appointment of Senators within each state, rather than the national party politics that ignores the states.
