“I gotta tell ya. I’m going to enjoy this. Good and hard, De Blasio, GOOD AND HARD.”

The correct term is...Dry and Ruff!

Please make a note of it./sarc

I just read that there are more than 1000 rats for every person living in New York City. Perhaps that explains why one of them got elected as mayor.

It’s not my problem that New York is not falling into decay the way all you people wish.
My roots go back to the LES in the early 1850s.
While this pinko-commie mayor may provide NYers a difficult ride, he sure won't be the worst NYC has ever seen.NYC will prevail.

Good. Sometimes you have to let people wallow in their own stupidity.

The Movie, “Escape from New York” may have to be moved from fiction to non-fiction

Broadway can escape New York for Nashville. The main downtown thoroughfare is already named Broadway. No renaming necessary.

But freepers have got to get a more realistic view of NYC. My God, we have people here who think it’s Escape from NY. Do you think I’d still be going into NYC on a regular basis if it was the dump you all made it out to be? In fact, it’s cleaner and safer than it ever was under the admins of Wagner, Lindsay, Beame, Dinkie and others.

Bitch Clinton really means, apportioned subsidies, cronyism, class warfare.

Or better, "from each according to his ability to each according to his need".

I think I’ll look up some $$ figures on welfare checks and freebie amounts in NYC and print some fliers to passed out in Detoilet.

There are lots of leeches there that need a new host.

Oh, he’ll be a disaster, lol! Yes, Tammany Hall, the Draft Riots, Hoovervilles et al!

As much as I dislike this weak and frivolous new mayor, the aesthetics of his family make me even angrier! His son - whose ludicrous hairstyle is taking over Brooklyn - and his bizarre daughter’s appearance - all contrive to make me feel that there is a genuine mental sickness among wealthy liberals.

New York is in for such a well-deserved smackdown.

Even Anthony Weiner wasn’t an avowed hater of all things free enterprise. They’d have been better off electing him... but they want the full dose.

Well, NYers... you got it.

Prediction: Like David Dinkins before him, this fool will be a ONE TERMER.

Giuliani was the one who cleaned up Manhattan. He was probably the best mayor (although I didn’t want to see him in the now tarnished White Hut) of the last century.

And, Miss Marmelstein, one can hardly call those haters of Jews and Christians cherubs after they literally run up behind one of us and beat the crap out of us, can we?

Under the evil administration of this communist the city may indeed sink to the depths of General Dinkum’s careless reign.

I know of folks MOVING to Manhattan for well-paying jobs. So, while the island sinks into madness overall, its has mini-islands of prosperity. Frinstance, Google is growing and hiring in lower Manhattan.

The island is not sinking into madness. The island is Manhattan - the wealthiest of all the boroughs. The last apartment I had in NYC was in “Curry Hill” (east 25th Street) around 2011 and my neighbors, actually, were all middle-class people.

OK, I give up. You live in Ohio & Florida, I live several miles from New York City (after 27 years there) but you know best.

Doubt it was election fraud. As liberal as Bloomberg was, he still had the R next to his name.

People voted for the D, not the name De Blasio. I worked in Manhattan for about 10 years and am VERY glad I no longer work in NYC. Bad days are just around the corner.

He is on the leading edge of a larger phenomenon as the Dem Party continues to move leftward. It will shortly drop all pretense and openly run as a Euro-style Social Democratic party.
