Thank You The Indian Express for carrying the story!

Yup - it was worth it. And, I say that as a person of Indian (dotted - not feathered) origin.

The only sad fact here is that her home country did not have the guts to put this serial criminal behind bars for the more serious crimes she committed there.

-— India is a natural US ally. -—

Absolutely.

And personally, I’ve yet to meet an Indian I haven’t liked.

Thank them for what exactly? For whipping up jingoistic passions over the arrest of a common thief - and one that stole from her maid to boot. Sangeeta, the real victim in this case, was literally on the roads in NY and it was a Sikh temple that took her in and further put her in touch with Preet Bharara.

I am not defending her. But the fallout from this tells me it should have been handled differently.

Hey, I am not a US citizen. The US can treat foreign diplomats any way they want. Just be prepared for the blowback.

Thanking India Express for covering the story means no thanks to the MSM for covering Obama.

The Obamanation Administration is totally inept and clueless. May God protect what is left of this once great country. And may God bless the Indians for making this tactical stand of significant importance.

Put in simplest terms, the Obama administration f*cked up again.

The Keystone Kops are running the nation.

Wonder why there seems to be no posts supporting the maid who was being treated like a slave. She was denied her own passport which denied her a chance to escape or seek help.

To read that this diplomat was treated as a criminal made my day.

We did and we are.

We had an interesting year this past year.

I don’t anticipate next year to be as busy, and hopefully a little smoother going.

Don’t you think there was an agreement to let the terrorists kill the Americans at Benghazi?

No. I think there was an agreement to let our ambassador be kidnapped so The Won would have an excuse to trade/release the blind sheik.

When a couple SEALS showed up and offed a bunch of the miscreants, the rest assumed they'd been betrayed (it is what they would have done, after all!) they got po'd and emasculated, sodomized, killed, and sodomized Ambassador Stevens out of pure spite and revenge.

I smell anti asian racism in the air from bureaucrats of a certain kind.

Greetings, indcons - long time no see. (I haven’t been around that much myself the last two or three months).

I’ve read a few stories about this situation and along with the cash money paid to the maid in NYC (about $500 a month), free room and board, free phone, taxi rides, and other perks, plus $30,000 rupees a month put into her husband’s bank account, that adds up at least to $9 an hour (not even counting the board and room). The consular official may not be squeeky clean for sure, but it looks very much to me as though the maid planned this in advance to try to get permanent residence status for herself and family. I saw a letter she had written in Hindi, translated, how much she liked the job, and the employers, and they gave her a lot of free time, perks, etc. Also she left without notice in the summer and could not be found anyway, without a “goodbye” etc. It really looks like a scam on her part, to me. Notwithstanding that Divyani may be selfish or have committed other wrongdoings (you mentioned war widows).

And the strip searching etc was, IMHO, way overdone, considering how illegal Mexican criminals are treated with kid gloves here.
