Our flagstone patio is beautiful next to the Koi Pond. We love the Koi pond and are seriously not considering putting in a pool...even though we always wanted one. We’d have to take the stone wall down to do so...

Ahhhh, I’m glad to hear that. The Koi and water garden will bring you a lot of pleasure and fun over the years. Pools are a lot of work, liability and greatly increased homeowner’s ins premium costs. You have some real specimen plants back there, from what I could see in the 1-2 pics; glad you’re keeping it as is.

The huge 40 year old Japanese Maple and the 14 yr old Weeping Maple we’d
have to remove to put in a pool played a large part. The garden is so beautiful.

I can find the Koi a good home, maybe we just put in a lap pool/Jacuzzi where the pond is.

Maintenance on the pond is like a pool without the benefits.

Looking forward to your advice on pruning the Magnolia tree next year.

Take as many pics, from 360°, of the Magnolia as you can wo/ leaves, and I'll give you an email to send them to me. Wish I was closer, as I love pruning/shaping ornamental trees. Hmmm, maybe a day trip...
