Thanks. What a world of difference between Steyn and his “editor”!

It threw me off, too. How many managing editors does a publication have? It appears that NRO has more than one.

It seems to have been 200 percent felt

In complaining that something is felt, the author uses the cousin of "felt", "seems". "Seems" is handy when evidence is lacking. Of course, a thinking man would realize that something being 200% felt is logically impossible, and not a colorful ebough impossibility to deserve to grace the pages of National Review. Such lines are best left to half-time football pep talks.

I would think it unlikely he’s a “managing editor” there, whatever that title means in real life.

Yup. I used to write articles for "Video Games" magazine (circ. 150,000), and was listed as a contributing editor, though my own work was edited.

No surprise. Steorts is the same insipid little twerp who snarked on John Derbyshire back in the day. Wonder how NRO's version of pajama boy got hired, who his father in law is.

Sounds like he’s complaining that Steyn got more talent. Jason Lee just got it in the Shoerts.

I am not sure how “tolerance” came to mean “Shut up you &^%$#@! and we’ll make sure you don’t work in this town again!!!” to those who disagree with you on a topic. It doesn’t sound very tolerant to me.
