Lawlessness.
Period
No, they shouldn't.
But, in their position, it's easy to see why they might believe they must.
If you're the executive representing the shareholder's and employees' interest in a company, and that company can be rendered worthless overnight by the federal government, there is incentive to comply with an illegal request.
See Google, Microsoft, etc. vs the NSA...
This is just one more demonstration of how the federal government has usurped excessive power.
The first part is going to happen for sure. If I had signed up and was about to drop a check in the mail; I’ve just put it aside for three weeks and will mail it in on the 7th or so.
The second part will definitely *not* happen. The insurance companies will accept the claims from docs and hospitals and pharmacies from 01/01/14 to 01/10/14 and hold them in suspense. If the premium never gets paid by the perp (I mean, “enrollee”); then neither do the docs, hospitals and pharmacies get paid by the victim (I mean “insurance company”).
They’ve just treated those folks for free. Hope those poor saps keep good records. Maybe they can send a bill to the newly re-uninsured patients. Maybe it will get paid in the same way the premium got paid.
Good for you, AMA. If you like the tyranny, you have to accept all of it. You don’t get to pick and choose. Eat it.
Su-u-u-u-u-u-re....
Nice naïve fantasy world you live in.
What do you think this is? A Constitutional Republic?
So when they come at you for violating the law later, what will your defense be? Obama said so?
See how far that flies.
Once people stop following the rule of law, all is lost.
66,666 out of the 7,000,000 they wanted as a minimum to make it work. 0.95% of goal. You’re going to be close.
This was a Rube Goldberg solution to a problem that didn’t exist.
Those “40,000,000 uninsured” were uninsured because they were either a) so lazy that they couldn’t even be bothered to sign up for Medicaid when they were eligible, let alone get a job; or b) were uninsured by choice.
Even with a fine; they are *still* choosing to be uninsured...*in droves*!
Surely you jest.
And the prosecutor for violating the Federal Law, the ACA would be.....Eric Holder.
I say again, FUBAR ...
try this deadline changing on April 15th..
