Did Bush eliminate or weaken airport security profiling measures just before 9/11, in order to follow up on his 2000 election pledges?

Bush called for weakening airport security procedures aimed at deterring hijackers.If so, that would be in keeping with a bunch of other moronic things he did, in the name of political correctness. I agree, I don’t understand the leadership either.
I'm not trying here to state how to make it work, only to state the headline maxim of limiting the feralgov. How it would work is the detail that we elect supposed conservatives to drill down towards and enact (ie, have a phased approach, have it be statutory or via a COS, take it to SCOTUS based on Article 1 Section 8, etc, etc).
Because, like his mentor Johnny the Weeper, Ryan has joined the Bob Michel GOP club.
Then they will put off The Confrontation again. This is a charade ordered up by their boss in the White House. The Republicans are working directly for Valerie Jarett, I think. She keeps the GOP activated because the Democrats need a show opposition party that won’t actually oppose them but can be used as the perpetual goat until they are not needed anymore.

The key cave-in word in the above quote is the word “without.”
If without is removed, and the qualifying following dependent phrase, the statement becomes: “ - - - Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) signaled that Republicans would not raise the debt ceiling next year.”
Thus, Ryan has “signaled” that he is working a con on his loyal, and very gullible voters.
If the word “signaled” is replaced by “stated,” then we have a statement worthy of a true Federal Republican Politician: “ - - - Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) stated that Republicans would not raise the debt ceiling next year.”
This is a good object lesson for us Conservatives to consider at how eager the current RINO Establishment leadership is to surrender, cave-in or otherwise grovel at the feet of their betters (the Marxist Democrats).
Always willing to avoid a knock-down, drag out battle such as the 2012 Reid-Obama Controlled Partial Government shutdown, the Federal Congressional RINO Establishment continues to cave in to the loudest voices in Marxist Obama Administration, the Marxist Reid’s Senate, and the Leftstream Media.
Ryan’s double con is working as long as we Conservatives allow his Con to go un-noticed.
Ryan is depending on us to stay a Silent Majority.

Ryan is even more finished in my book than when he let Biden beat him in that damn debate.
I say that the establishment GOP will continue to sell us out and lie through their teeth. It’s always “next year” that’ll be the big fight, but it’s funny how that big stand keeps getting pushed back.
