The GOP’ don’t really care about regaining the senate. They will work their
deal with the RATs regardless. It’s the DC Hacks vs America.
This bunch, including Bonehead, Cantor, Ryan and McConnell have got to go.

Of course not -- he's an East Coast RiNO deluxe. I picked him to show how pervasive these anti-American, anti-social-conservative attitudes are among East Coast Republicans.

My theory is that there is a true social divide across the Appalachians; historian T.R. Fehrenbach, in Lone Star, his history of Texas, referred to Atlantic Slope (East Coast) folks as the "Deferential Society", inasmuch as they had retained a lot of the bowing-and-scraping attitudes of the Old World. In other words, the people who stayed on the East Coast and didn't cross the mountains never fully acclimated to America but remained substantially European in their attitudes about everything.

And they patronize the hell out of us, and I'm about done with them.

Hope this helps.

They are doing their level best to lose in 2014, they might even lose the majority in the House. They would be happy then.

Political defeat of the Democrats ought to be easier than ever given the numerous scandals, repeated lies, and rampant Executive lawlessness.

Yet somehow the Repubs are incapable of political victory. They repeatedly focus on ceding advantage now for some hypothetical future advantage that never materializes. Ryan’s current budget plan is an example. Perhaps it will work. I doubt it though, because by the time elections come next fall Obamacare will have had a year to be corrected and refined and the shocks of loosing your doctor and increased costs will have worn off, they will be grudgingly accepted and like a droning noise, ignored.

The time to fight them is now. Obama can make all the decrees he wants, they are not law. Government agencies are not following law but instead these decrees. How about criticizing Obama’s calls for criminal behavior? When Obama decreed a delay in implementing PPACA for employers with more than 50 employees, did Boehner declare that this is beyond Obama’s power? No. Boehner criticized Obama for excluding small businesses and promised to introduce a bill to delay implementation for small businesses. How about Congress withdraw funding for every one of these agencies that is following Obama exhortations rather than the law? The Democrats will howl and the Senate will never pass it - but it puts the spotlight on the criminality. Will Republicans ever focus on the criminality? Never.

Democrats must be defeated intellectually as well as politically. With the failures of PPACA this should be easier than ever. Socialism is on the ropes. No is the time to destroy the idea. There is no hope for intellectual victory, the repubs are not up to the job. They do not articulate any ideas. I doubt that they have any cohesive ideas.

The House - under the Republicans - has been made into a joke. They issue subpoenas which are ignored with impunity. They hold people in Contempt of Congress, but then do nothing about it. They have allowed Executive encroachment on the Legislature by accepting these decrees.

They’re worthless whiners who find fifty reasons why they can’t do anything and will fight and thwart any attempt to promote Constitutional conservatism or to stand up to the Democrats.

When they lose next fall, as incredibly difficult as that should be, you can thank John Boehner et al. Boehner is Obama’s right hand man.

“Senate Conservative Fund executive director Matt Hoskins. “This is the type of stuff that sends a message to voters that their leaders in Washington don’t like them, and they don’t represent them”

This is the “Mark my word, no new taxes” liar Group, that came in after Reagan, there not to serve, but to use the government as a weapon, to take advantage of as many as they can not in their Group.

Your theory has nailed it..... you should write a book or talk to someone who does.

At its core, this is a failing of all politicians: they get to thinking their popularity is about *them*, and not the positions they espouse, and when they change position they’re dumbfounded that they lose the support of their “base”.

The TEA party is going to be collecting some big DC scalps in 2014. Put them on display and let then fear the anger.

“The gop will not support one candidate who beats an incumbent in a primary. They’d rather remain the minority with their good friends, the democrats.”

This is what I have said. The sub-parasites have determined their best chance is to become sub-parasites of the real parasites.

Harlem Globetrotters <> Washington generals. The security of the GOP is equivalent to that of the Dems as long as they go along and accept second place.

Wonderful statement. They do need to be more optics-oriented. Too smart for their own good.

“why isn’t the GOP preaching the gospel of capitalism “

Because capitalism is not a god and there is no gospel.

In fact, capitalism is a ruthless method of maximizing value. It has no soul, it has not pity for the losers, it has no compassion. And if you happen to be one of the losers, well BOO HOO AND TOO BAD FOR YOU.

Capitalism is efficient but it is not the be all end all goal of human life.

Thin Q, ma'am .... but I can't take credit for Fehrenbach's pre-PC (1960) scholarship, or for the foaming at the mouth in Commentary over Sarah Palin.

I mean, when Maureen Dowd first went after Sarah in 2008, in that fantastic Jurassic Park scream-leap she did "the day after" Sarah's great introductory speech, Dowd went after, first of all, Sarah's glasses frames. I mean, WTF? I've never yet understood that one. Is that how middle-aged women diss each other?

Thanks for the "write a book" comment, but that book's already written, and it's someone else's. ;)

This reminds me of those episodes of youth where the stronger kid will have the weaker kid’s wrists in hand and say, repeatedly, “Stop hitting yourself,” all the while having the weaker kid hit himself. Except, the republicans play this game alone.

“Many Republicans believe counter-attacks by the establishment is exactly the formula for unifying the party. “

This is precisely why they continually lose.

The GOP does not teach anymore. They are not about policy. They are about being bought and paid for by the highest bidder.

“The Republican party rarely misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.”

Begs the question. Opportunity for what? If it’s just to elect more of the same and accomplish nothing, it isn’t much of an opportunity.
