I’ve been letting my Imprimis’ slip and finally got caught up over the weekend about the football one. You can read it here: http://bentonrwnews.blogspot.com/2013/10/imprimis-football-and-american-character.html

If you do read it, you will see that Football is just another thing that the Progressives have been trying to ban for over a hundred years!

“The deaths were the worst. They were not freak accidents as much as the inevitable toll of a violent game. And they horrified a group of activists who crusaded against football itself—wanting not merely to remove violence from the sport, but to ban the sport altogether. At the dawn of the Progressive era, the social and political movement to prohibit football became a major cause.

The New York Evening Post attacked the sport, as did The Nation, an influential magazine of news and opinion. The latter worried that colleges were becoming “huge training grounds for young gladiators, around whom as many spectators roar as roared in the [Roman] amphitheatre.” The New York Times bemoaned football’s tendency toward “mayhem and homicide.” Two weeks later, the Times ran a new editorial entitled “Two Curable Evils.” The first evil it addressed was lynching. The second was football.”

Yep. Willie and Jep won’t be there as they are visiting the troops.

A cold beer would go well with it. (I gave up drinking again.)

Thanks; I'm way behind on Imprimis, too. Insightful article.

Then, here we go again:

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (CBS Charlotte/AP) — Officials at Shaw Air Force Base are trying to determine what to do about a holiday display after a Nativity scene was taken down last week.

Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Keavy Rake said Tuesday a Nativity display was set up Friday by a group of volunteers from the base chapel at a small lake on the installation. The site was near where a tree lighting ceremony was scheduled Friday evening.

Rake says the Military Religious Freedom Foundation lodged a complaint about the display through the Air Force in Washington.

Over 2700 comments. It is war out there in the land.

"The Air Force is led by Christian-hating officers and civilians who bow and kiss the rings of the Satanists. I would never recommend anyone who is a Christian join that service." dixiesuzan • 25 minutes ago −

"Why just replace the Nativity scene of 2,000 years ago with a more recent Nativity of the 20th century. The birth of Obama. A nice Hawaiin scene, a small cradle with Marxist and Kenyan flags adorning it and happy Pop and Mom beaming down on the small Messianic child, Our Obama, who will save the Earth from boiling over for all mankind (except radical violent religious extremists). A small prayer chapel over arching the entire setting, with prayer rugs. See? No endorsement of religion! Perfectly Constitutional!"

The US government and many of its members are anti-Christ. "If you are not for me, you are against me" Christ said. And it will not stand much longer.

'Ich bin ein Berliner'

He was trying to say that he is a Berliner (this was at a time when war over Berlin was certainly possible).

but there's a certain type of doughnut named after Berlin. My wife speaks German and I think she said that it depends upon how you pronounce the words leading up to the word Berliner.

Of course the MSM employees say that it's not true and if it is true it's Allen Dulles, John Dulles and Nixon's fault.

‘Ich bin ein Berliner’

means ‘I am a jelly doughnut’ which is “a Berliner”.

Ich bin Berliner, I am from Berlin.

JFK clearly said he was a jelly doughnut.
