I’d be stunned if a Republican took this Senate seat. However, I don’t think it will happen. The GOP is too well known for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Probably true, but the fact it’s being reported that ObamaCare is hurting DEMs in DEM states should send shivers down the spines of all DEM candidates nationwide.

Ludicrous claim, especially given the GOP’s success with winning statewide elections.

The big shift in the Michigan race is due largely to Independents. A few months ago, Land and Peters were basically tied among Independents. In the latest poll, Land has opened a massive 17-point lead with the critical voting block. Independents or as Rush calls them Low Information Voters
Personally I think both labels are too kind.
I prefer to think of them as voters who cant be bothered to pay attention to politics. Lazy voters would be a much more apt descriptor of Independent voters.
Because if they paid the least bit of attention to what was going on in national politics Obama would never have been elected in the first place and he certainly would not have been reelected.
If someone tells me they are an Independent I can be assured that they in reality devote no time what so ever to politics and probably have no idea of what their Senators and Representative have been doing in their name.
What really gets my knickers in a bunch is when someone gives me this attitude that I vote for the man not the party and acts as if this is some how a noble sentiment.
If you cant be bothered to figure out whether you are for Big Government and confiscatory taxes or smaller government and lower taxes maybe you should stay home on voting day. Because no matter the who man is when push comes to shove the man is going to come down on the side of his party 90% or more of the time.

It will take a major fight like Steele vs Dingell in which DNC Funds are depleted to keep a seat in their column. I don't think anyone running against Dingell would have the gravitas Doc had against him. I can't think of another high-profile race. On second thought, this Senate seat might be it, but their is no defender, it is an open seat. But in essense, Peter's is on defense to keep it in the D column...

MI is forever a lost cause; this is just false alarms. Things have changed drastically in Michigan. Its major cities have bled population drastically.
It maybe that those centers of Blue voters have dwindled sufficiently to put the state in play.

I hate to play Joan Rivers, but can we talk?
Seriously let us say we win big in the Senate, and their Leader is Mitch McConnell? Are you kidding me? At this point he is held in about as high esteem as Trent Lott.. In terms of his Politics he is ready for the glue factory for crying out loud.
Who will step up and challenge him and beat him for the House Majority Leader position?

It does amaze me that otherwise intelligent people can expend so much effort on such things so effortlessly.
My step daughter actually lost a job because she could not just turn her phone off at work.
I was a rule of her employer that you could not use your phone on the job. Her supervisor caught her too many times and she was fired.
Too bad for her, it was a good job.

Michigan has been trending GOP anyway. At this point the democrats are unable to pick up new house seats and can’t touch in state seats. It also helps that the Secretary of state has her boot on the neck of the democrat vote fraud machine.
The democrats are just throwing everything at defending the senate seats now.
