In 2010, standards were published and made available for mathematics and English language arts. Though standards for science and social studies are still in development, the goal is for states to have 85 percent of their curricula based upon the full spectrum of those standards.
CCSS advocates pitch that the initiative is a step in the right direction from the disastrous No Child Left Behind federal system. But not everyone is catching the CCSS fever. In particular, there are concerns about federal overreach into and control of their local academic arenas.
“What is Common Core? It is an education initiative in the United States that details what K-12 students should know in English and Math at the end of each grade. This seems pretty harmless, but once you start digging further into this, you will find that this is actually quite disturbing. The whole system of Common Core is used to dumb our children down. Sounds strange? Keep reading. Here is an example of what they want to teach your children in Math:
Normal Way: 29+17=46 (simple)
Common Core:
Step 1 20+9 (29)
Step 2 10+7 (17)= 30+16 [20+10=30]; [9+7=16]
Step 3 30+10+6 or (30+16)
Step 4 40+6=46 (complicating)
Do you see what I mean? I got a headache just from trying to explain to you how Common Core is wanting your kids to now solve this problem. If your child does this same math problem the simple way, they will have to write an essay explaining how they came to the same answer. Is it just me or does this seem extremely ridiculous. The real question is why are they making something that is not complicated extremely complicating. Well, I just told you. They are intentionally trying to dumb the American kids down. But why? For starters, Common Core teaches that communism is good.”

It’s not your friend apparently. We weren’t even talking about the curriculum. Frankly you’re just a lying demagogue.
This is another way of expressing what older arithmeticians call “carrying.” Something similar is done for “borrowing” (in subtraction). It’s actually bringing algebraic concepts into a lower grade. If it works, then great.
I posted an excerpt from a very informative article called ‘The Truth about Common Core’. First you misunderstood the excerpt, and then you just went off on a tangent. None of which changes the ugly truth about Communist Core.

I gave you a link to find out what he really thinks and you were to lazy and bigoted against Huckaboob to watch it. If you hadn't been you would have found out that he feels the same way you do about Common Core. He simply has said that it didn't begin that way. The same thing Chuck Norris said as well as others who deal with reality.
Color me a little obtuse. It looks like their treatment of arithmetic is attempting to bring in algebraic concepts. Do we have a proof that this will NOT work? I think it is great if they can get 3rd or 4th graders thinking in algebra. It will catch them up with the rest of the world.
We can’t just blanketly pan the methods suggested. I’d be more concerned with Federal involvement. This should be grass roots optional. The devil is in the details. Just because math is math and spelling is spelling, doesn’t make math and spelling a communist plot if it is taught to everybody.
Huckabee claims that slowly torturing a starving, desperate dog to death, such that it finally dies in terror and agony, is just another form of “putting it down”. Words cannot describe the sickness of that position. And no, I don’t want to hear anything further from such a ghoul. You listen to him all you want. I choose to listen to people who are not so sick and twisted when it comes to helpless, desperate animals/dogs.

Everything I said re: Huckabee and his sick, sadistic dog-killing son is true. & how about the other son? His claim to fame was having the best & most extensive porno collection of any young man in college. Quite a pair. & no, if a man has two sons this screwed up, it is not a red herring. It’s a problem.

And here’s the weird thing. I’m also interested in creative media. But I go at it in a thoroughly orthodox way. I don’t go demonizing what isn’t demons.
He wants to condemn Huckabee's stance on Common Core but refuses to listen to what Huckabee says about Common Core. Because of things his sons have done. He doesn't know what a red herring is but he's good at constructing them.
It’s a particular breed of red herring called demonization.
Someone who aspires to being the next C. S. Lewis ought to know better!
