Yes, she was stupid but that doesn’t absolve the man from his responsibilities, not only to the child but to her. He apparently lied to her for years and allowed the child to be born when he could have used birth control(like rubbers, for instance)to prevent that. He didn’t, he is much more culpable than she is, for he knew he never intended for their relationship to be permanent, she didn’t. Her crime is being stupid and believing him, his is lying and deliberately taking advantage. He deserves a lot more than a $50,000 fine.

Courts are out of control...

Yep - next thing you know, they'll be levying punishments for those who got married but decided not to stay that way....oh wait.
