Salt and sugar look a lot alike ;-)
I wonder what would be the ruling if one went into a fag bakery and wanted a Dan White commerative cake with a twinkie on top?
How about the cost to society of screwed up kids in ‘nontraditional’ families and the statistically disproportional rates of drug and alcohol abuse etc among the so called gay community?
PC nonsense that has nothing in common with law.
Administrative Law Judge Robert Spencer
“So sorry you didn’t care for your cake. I was certain you asked me to substitute Habanero for sugar in the cake mix.”
It’s one thing to discriminate between people based on immutable characteristics of what they are.
It’s quite another to discriminate based upon their behavior. The social costs of failing to do so are enormous.
Simple solution - always the best. Post a sign saying:”Forced out of business by homosexuals. Some Tolerance, eh?” and move to a less queer state.
“This view, however, fails to take into account the cost to society and the hurt caused to persons who are denied service simply because of who they are.”
WERE they being denied service because of who they are... Or instead, based upon what they are doing.
A private business has no obligation to be honest with these predators. Those who do not want to fight in court should:
(1) Agree to make the cake - but quote an insanely high price without specifying why.
(2) If the perverts agree, write a contract that specifies there is no penalty for failure to perform.
(3) Regretfully cancel at the last minute due to a personal emergency.
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker
Enemies all
WHY mention the couple was gay
I’m guessing that it had to do with some aspect of the cake...like two brides or two grooms, or two female names.
Christian Photographers will be targeted as well and its just about getting these cases in court.
1% of the population advancing their agenda.
The very term, "Administrative Law Judge" is an abomination to the separation of powers principle.
Except that a person's sexuality is experienced by society as something they do (e.g. having a same sex relationship), not as something they are (e.g. being black). This means the civil rights reasoning that works for race doesn't work for sexuality. It's wrong to judge someone by a physical trait like skin color, but society has a right, even an obligation, to judge actions and behavior.
It's the false equivalence with race that bugs me most about the whole gay issue. They want to smuggle their behavior into the protected place that we have created for race.
the appropriate shame of yesteryear appears to be all but gone....
How about the pain imflicted upon the rest of us when we a targeted by the homosexual mafia?
You beat me to it and said it better...that is exactly right. It’s the difference in doing and being.
Gone? How about celebrated?
I wish the world made sense.
