Most people can’t afford a bill for $185K. We can’t. I guess you think we should just drop dead?
How much of that $185K was upcharge to pay for all the non paying illegals and drug seekers?
I couldn’t afford it either. Which is why I buy insurance.
Well, insurance just ‘adjusted’ the cost to others is all.
And not everyone can afford insurance. Especially now.
Private socialization of risk ALWAYS leads to calls for public socialization of risk.

Private health care insurance will ALWAYS lead to single payer government healthcare. Always.
What doctors bill insurance companies is very often not what they are paid.
I’ve put a stop to my kids running around playing (like normal kids) and riding their bikes, scooters and skates.
We simply can’t afford for them to be injured.
when I was young and dad was a mounted policeman, he’d ask the vet to mix up a salve for me when I had what I think was scabies...little red raised bumps all over my body. It stung when mom applied it and daddy would blow (like you would when cooling a cut of tea) cost $0. It worked fine and I got rid of the bumps and red rash, and itching.. Police dept vets were the cream of the crop to look after the horses.(dad called my skin problem ....the 7 year itch. This was back in the 40’s.
Collectivists are afraid of anything that is out of their control.
