If they really wanted “fairness”, those retailers would be forced to collect and remit sales taxes by ZIP-Codes, too.

I doubt they’d be so hot to trot in that case.

Many thanks for the interesting report on signs in the Seattle area. Big difference now.

I know that on Bainbridge Island, where I lived, the pc crowd hated any mention of Christmas and all Christmas decorations. The only thing the town did was to string electric stars over the main street for a block or two. One shopkeeper told me how hard she had to fight with city council to get even that much of a nod to Christmas.

All over town, people were so very politely saying, “Seasons Greetings,” with never a mention of Christmas. Christmas was somehow subversive and hush hush........

As an aside, SUVs were considered horrible for the environment. I lived a block from a large grade school, and at 3 each afternoon, all the moms came to pick up their kids, every single one of them in an SUV.
But YOU shouldn’t drive one. Hypocrisy rules.
