The fear is that the stations could aid Russian efforts to spy on the U.S
Well, DUH!
The thing is, I just don’t trust the judgment of the guy who is running the State Department (and his predecessor, not to mention the guy in the White House.) They have repeatedly demonstrated that they 1) do not know what they are doing and 2) have no intention or desire to protect the best interests of our country. Bad combination. I think any of their proposals, or policies, need to be considered in that light and should be presumed to be harmful unless proven otherwise.
They’ll approve that but not the Keystone pipeline.
Alger Hiss’ descendents are STILL RUNNING the State Dept- They were NEVER purged
Yes, I would believe it. The State Department has always been a place for those who hate Free America and American Exceptionalism. Many in the State Department should be arrested and tried for sedition.
>>>The DoD gets to build similar monitoring stations for US GPS in Russia. The Russian system is as open to random users as the US system. IOW, when you sync your Garmin, Russian satellites should appear alongside US. Once again, the more the merrier solving simultaneous equations gets better the more inputs there are.<<<
USAF operates some 20 similar stations in Russia for a decade and counting.
Russian system is as open as GPS, and it is supported by a lot of modern gadgets. Iphone, Samsung Galaxy Note, Nokia and Motorola phones etc.
