You can’t.

Stay out of Chinese restaurants and out of chain chicken crap sellers like McD’s, Burger King, KFC, etc.

If you have a ‘yen’ for chicken then buy Purdue and Pilgrim’s Pride products. Don’t buy supermarket brands.

In other words, the chickens are first slaughtered in the United States or another country like Mexico, then shipped to China where the dead chickens would be cooked, then shipped back to the United States to be sold to consumers! “

Total insane!!!!!

“Have those FDA/USDA idiots lost their f-——— minds???”

No, they are busy sending SWAT teams to local farms producing raw milk.

I consult for a company that refines and distributes heparin to pharmaceutical companies. The adulterant has been identified and the controls are in place to assure that it is not there. I know; I do the validation. Additionally, this company has eliminated China as a source for the raw material.

My wife had an operation last Spring and was on levenox (enoxaparin) for a couple weeks post-op (cervical fusion). This issue is not a problem at this time. There are several groups working on heparin from a bioengineering standpoint, so that their product would not originate from an animal (would use the pure enzymes in a factory setting).

Good luck on your operation.

Thanks, a relief.
Heparin is made from animal products?

Yes. Heparin can be isolated from the intestinal mucosa of most mammals. The predominant source is swine. There used to be a fairly large market from beef, but mad cow disease led to the move to swine. There is some horse and some sheep sources as well. The regulation of the materials has been quite tight but there is some reason to believe that the adulteration was intentional and designed to evade the analyses (essentially put the thumb on the scale). Long term, I think purely synthetic approaches will replace animal sources, but we are a pretty good distance from that point.

While some countries take pride in making superior products, ie Japan, Germany to name a couple, China takes pride in shortcutting/adulterating their products any way they can.

I hope they follow that model in their military equipment also.
