Earlier post - LINK to the site, not the same as the biased "news" story about the study running today in the Houston Chronicle.

Needless to say, the comments are "interesting."

+++++ vt500ascott - Rank 904

"Let's see if we can't shrink conservatism small enough to fit it into a bathtub where we can drown it and all of its adherents...."

+++++ ss396 - Rank 39

"Don't worry, conservatives"?

More like the other way around. Liberals need working, productive conservatives to keep their entitlements flowing."

Stupid list by daft Oriental girl

Nashville is Austin for hillbillies

70 % for Obama
30% black

Jacksonville worse

Isn’t it amazing how stupid average media writer is today

Even a Krauthammer or Will....dangerously less informed than a free republic handmaiden

Here is a more accurate article

http://m.theatlanticcities.com/politics/2012/11/why-urban-rural-voting-divide-matters/4034/

OKC....yes....God love em

In ascending order, the list follows, for people like myself who don’t like to spend much time scrolling through pictures when a simple list is usually the best way of seeing what’s on a list. I question some of this though, and how conservative some of these places are to real conservatives. And I think someone also pointed out that getting away from cities is probably the better option for conservatives.

Silicon Valley, California

Spokane, Washington

Jacksonville, Florida

Plano, Texas

Gilbert, Arizona “Fast-growing city that feels like a small town where only 43 percent of the county (Maricopa) voted for Obama in 2012.”

Arlington, Texas

Anchorage, Alaska

Nashville, Tennessee

Boise, Idaho

Fort Worth, Texas

Anaheim, California

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

This is about cities not towns

What’s a town.

Under 100,000?

Man when I was a kid a town was maybe 25,000 tops

Salt Lake
Fort Worth
Phoenix
Wichita
OKC
Boise
Lincoln.....

That is it of cities of 100,000 or more that voted GOP in 2012

This writer chick is just hyping stereotypes as conservatism

Even dummies here think Nashville is right wing and hicks

Which is absolutely bs....its left wing hipster academia and high culture....the opry is a tourist side note

And Jacksonville....45% minority?

Conservative is impossible with that fact

Our cities are lost to kids.....middle aged progressives and non whites

We live around them and pay the bill

Only 5 of those voted GOP in 2012.....including Arlington. And Plano...both...more a big suburb than city really...for sure...I mean is Great Neck a city or Tarrytown?

Fort Worth

OKC

Boise

When I grew up Dallas was solidly HL Hunt conservative and Morning News birch flavored

Boy...the good old days

I need to run a thread on Nashville liberalism...so many folks assume incorrectly

It is just like Austin

Capital

River

Music

Hills

Academia

Progressives up her but trust me

Hipster population huge....queers too....and black

Latinos likely 15%

That’s what killed Dallas ...
Latinos and Asians..

Dallas looks minority white in city proper nowadays except the park cities and Preston road ..northwest tollway corridor

Friendliest most southern big city though....simply amazing...I love it lib or not

Many live on the edges of cities - the suburbs of towns and cities surrounding it, which comprise the much larger metroplex.

Even here in the deepest dark Blue New Jersey, if you removed a strip 10 miles on either side of the NJ Turnpike, the rest of the state would vote like Texas.

Obama hates suburbs! What could possibly recommend them more? http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/354734/regionalism-obamas-quiet-anti-suburban-revolution-stanley-kurtz

Boise Idaho? That is the most liberal part of the state other than Moscow.

Omit the black strongholds of Newark, Trenton and Camden, and you have an almost "normal" state.

we will never be able to fix this nation until conservatives take back the cities.

Hopefully the suburbs will turn into the ghetto's of the future eventually forcing libs to disperse into them as they are displaced within the cities by conservatives.

Conservatives long ago left the big cities. Big city newspapers saw that and tuned their message to the libs left behind.

True some places are so built up.. its hard to separate city from town from hamlet..

WHEN and if civilization breaks down large cities will be consumed by maggots.. in human form..
Just saw this happening in the Philippines.. where any stores with stock were pilfered and even houses that survived..

Silicon Valley? That’s the heart of the liberal Bay Area. Plus, it’s not a city, it’s an area (Basically Santa Clara County).

I agree on the Gilbert, AZ being very conservative. Of course maybe I am biased because I live there.
