Follow up article: When this shooting made the news in mid-September, many of us wondered if the guy was drunk or high. It looks like he was probably just dazed and confused from the accident itself.

The important thing here is that the cops got to go home to their families.

I think this particular cop will be getting an entirely new “family”.

What are cops to do when they are approached by a civilian? It was a clear case of having to kill him, because he might have been dangerous. Besides, it was just good target practice, more realistic of a life and death situation than shooting dogs in people’s yards.
These cops are no better than thugs who kill people for the fun of it. They need to be euthanized at the local pound.

I think only one officer fired all the shots.

It appears that the only people who are safe these days are those who run away from the police.

Apparently the woman didn’t have a dig or baby deer.

I think this particular cop will be getting an entirely new family. You didn't get the memo that cops were allowed to kill anyone they want any time they want and simply state the magic words "He made a threatening gesture" et voila it automatically becomes a "good shoot." After all dead men tell no contradictory tales.

he had 10 bullet wounds, including five that were fatal. How can you have more than one fatal wound?

It is an alternative universe for out of state visitors in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. If an out of state driver is rear-ended by a local, you can be sure that the out of state driver was navigating the roadway at high speed while in reverse.
NC is one of five states that operate under Contributory Negligence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contributory_negligence. If you are a visitor to NC and get into an auto accident, you might as well add “Dueling Banjos” from Deliverance to MP3 player. You are about to get a taste of Mecklenburg-style justice.
It is not a racial thing - it is a local thing.

Then fire the other ones for neglecting to pull out their guns and kill the idiot who was doing all the shooting.

Each of those five would have been fatal by itself.

It appears that the only people who are safe these days are those who run away from the police. Then they shoot you in the back. Happened to the son of one of the scool janitors where my kid went to school (many many years ago) Ran from cops and was shot in the back and killed Running away is apparently a "threatening gesture"

The cop who killed him was charged almost immediately.
