I understand the policy and the reasoning behind it. The policy is not my concern - why are you not understanding what I have been trying to say? Seems like you are more intent on killing the messenger and defending indefensible uncivilized behavior, behavior that is clearly detrimental to FR. I think you are doing that because you know posts of this ilk - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3086858/posts?page=43#43 - are indefensible.
“Are you suggesting that those who disapprove of someone using this site to benefit themselves are somehow unable to understand how being used is beneficial?”
I don’t understand the question, could you rephrase it?
How many donation hits do you get on a post like that? Check the server logs and see, then report back. Should be fairly easy to see which donation posts people click on.
AH!
So you would prefer some OFFICIAL response.. a response from management? From authority?
(Which we've already seen, but I'll let that ride for the moment..)
Now we're getting somewhere.
If you were waiting in line for a movie and some lout tries
to cut into the front of the line, you would call the police.
No way would you simply (and correctly) address the problem yourself.
That's what happens to loutish blogpimps.
Some folks will address the problem directly.
It can be messy and uncivil.
Such is life.
If someone objects to being used, why would one conclude that this is evidence that they don’t understand how being used is a benefit to them?
“Donations are down due to an Obama economy. To try and say otherwise is disingenuous.”
How do you know that is a fact? I think there are other alternatives. Check this out:

Those are real.
If someone objects to being used, why would one conclude that this is evidence that they dont understand how being used is a benefit to them?
Who’s conclusion is that?

Why its an issue no matter how deep heads are buried in the sand:
Posts like this http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3086858/posts?page=43#43 and the childish gang style attack posts on blog pimps wont save FR either! What part of that is so hard to understand?

I was told to ignore the anti-blogpimp gang and their tactics - why wouldn’t that work for blog posts?
Do discussions like the one we are in generate donating members?
Does a donation graphic like the one in post 164 generate a lot of donation hits? Should be easy to figure out which donation graphics are the most effective - just count the server log hits each get. That would tell the management which direction they need to go to reverse the 40% decline in donating members. I’d be willing to bet the one in post 164 is not at the top - unless FR is simply becoming an echo chamber.
Again, YOU need to take this up with Jim Robinson.
So you got this:
“this is evidence that they dont understand how being used is a benefit to them?”
From that? I’m interested. How?
Ignoring their posts will not serve to curb their bad behavior.
So can’t simply ignore them, don’t seem to want to quietly delete their posts and ban them. I think someone should - it would help curb the bad behavior of the blogpimp attack gang.
That would be a good thing wouldn’t it?
"If someone objects to being used, why would one conclude that this is evidence that they dont understand how being used is a benefit to them?"
So how about checking to see how many donating hits the graphics in 159 and 164 generate compared to others?
The behavior of those who gently correct and kindly
nudge blogpimps into line does not bother me at all.
Why would I care to curb a behavior to which I don’t object?
If you understand it, then why the whining?
We tried being nice to the blogpimps.
Do you understand THAT part?
So you LIKE being used?
You have no problem with it?
“That’s not a complete quote. I actually said this:
“If someone objects to being used, why would one conclude that this is evidence that they dont understand how being used is a benefit to them?”
I must be missing something here, that is not my conclusion. If you think it was where is the evidence?
“So you LIKE being used?
You have no problem with it?”
What? Where did I get used and who used me?
