If these are really government employees they need to learn how to manage their finances a little better, not to mention OUR FINANCES they are handling! No wonder we as a country are BROKE...

My bills are getting all strewed up already. I am worried about finances and losing sleep. Already had to cancel my daughters birthday party because I can’t afford it. I feel pathetic.

I live in the D.C. area.
My spouse is a federal contractor and it’s unclear whether or not she will be paid. We’re luckier than plenty of people, but it’s still a really huge stress for us. If it goes on too long we will have trouble paying our bills on one salary.
I live in the D.C. area, am a current or retired federal employee, receive federal benefits and will be inconvenienced.
Looks likely I’ll be collecting unemployment. Surreal. Sad.

I’m a DoD employee, and just went through 8 days of furlough. My savings was basically decimated during this time. If I don’t get paid, I don’t have much to fall back on. My husband is also unemployed.

Sitting down with my bills and determining which ones I can’t pay without any salary coming in. What I have is what I have to live on until the shutdown ends.

My wife woke up crying today because we aren’t going to be able to pay our bills. I’m a federal contract employee who works onsite at a federal agency. Unlike my federal collegues, I have zero chance for retroactive pay. I’ve seen very little mention of how federal contractors are affected by this.
This needs to be all over Facebook, Twitter, etc. Show the dumbbells who think that conservatives are so evil how callous these Demoncrats are. Of course, killing children isn’t something new to Harry Reid or the libs. They’ve been doing it openly since 1973...
