Obamacare was never meant to help anyone. It was always meant to destroy from within just like everything this man has done.

Well said. The only people who's healthcare should be paid by the government is active and retired military personnel, and existing seniors on Medicare. Even Medicare (and Medicaid and SCHIP) should be block granted to the states for them to run.

I for one am not participating in Obamacare or signing up with a "Navigator." No thanks. I urge everyone to pay out of pocket for routine health expenses and go overseas for treatment of illnesses. I'm already exploring Costa Rica to get dental implants and they're way cheaper than here.

A minimalist just wants to exist, they have no ambition.

Most welfare recipients are minimalist, they just want their basic necessities, housing, food, utilities, healthcare and public transportation.

Most union workers are minimalist. They know their place in society; they can plan their future by the number of years they have worked. There is no need to excel at their job.

A radical Islamist is closer to god if they do away with any modern conveniences and individuality. They are minimalist.

An environmentalist is a minimalist. They want to impose their radicalism on everyone.

A socialist is a minimalist. Welfare is fine with them, guaranteed jobs and unions are good and heavy regulations and taxes are good.

A communist is a minimalist.

Illiterate illegal aliens are minimalist. There is an opportunity for advancement in our country but most of them are happy to work for the same things our welfare recipients receive.

They call themselves Democrats or progressives but shouldn’t they be known for retarding progress? Shouldn’t we be calling them retards?

PS Jim; about your last line. What makes you think this dictatorship will be benevolent? Isn’t “benevolent dictatorship” an oxymoron?

I was fortunate to have worked for a major corporation from age 22 to past 40. My employer provided health care as an employment benefit. They paid what the market demanded for services that I practically never needed.

Under Obamacare, a male in the same situation may find himself paying 5 to 6 thousand dollars per year to get that same coverage. I predict that a huge part of this population is going to "get it" pretty quickly after seeing his paycheck clipped in such a dramatic fashion for services that he just doesn't need. He will recognize that he is working and producing so that someone else can work less and produce less.

Obamacare will not be irreversible anymore than the distribution of Obamaphones is irreversible. It took the Soviet Union about 70 years to fail. It won't take us that long to reverse direction, though the reversal will be painful for many.

Obama is turning your healthcare system into something resembling Norway or England, And the main plank in those things is withholding service.

For example, I have some of the same problems with a leg as you have with yours. Last time the health system promised wound care, they had hired a pakistani, and that was the end of that. They do not even respond to contact - if you’re a political non grata, the system will try and kill you. Same for Mesta; both the Obamacare outgrowths and our system have tried to kill or maim her.

Sarah is right about the death panels, only they’ll be far wider and deeper than anyone think.

I hope I may post this Jim. Never take the line of least resistance. You will always lose much more than you will gain.

Well yeah but... The Supreme Court decided it was okay.

Of course I realize that the Court was wrong but that takes a revolution to decide differently...

Furthermore, Obamacare destroys the constitutional limits on government. It sets the SCOTUS approved precedent that there are no limits whatsoever on what the government can force on the people, nor any individual right that cannot be violated, nor any states right that cannot be violated. The central government is all powerful. That's totally upside down and inside out.

And it also eliminates the separation of powers. It allows the president and the SCOTUS to rewrite legislation without congressional input or approval.

It in fact, nullifies our constitution and bill of rights and turns America into a benevolent dictatorship.

Thanks a lot John Roberts.

Neither health care or insurance are enumerated powers for the central government to be involved in or control. Period. They are clearly reserved to the states and the people by the constitution. Doesn't matter how poor people are or how sick. The federal government has no constitutional power to intervene.

Unfortunately, with the passage of the 17th Amendment, the concept of states rights and the 10th Amendment got lost in the shuffle. Prior to passage of the 17th Amendment, Senators to the US Congress were appointed by their respective state legislature. This made them beholden to the state they represented and more willing to fight to preserve states rights.

Passage of the 17th Amendment effectively eradicated their allegiance to their home state and made future Senators, like House representatives, beholden to the power brokers, money men and political groups. IOW, it effectively ended the concept of America as a representative republic and truly made us a "democracy" subject to mob rule.

IMO, the repeal of the 17th Amendment would do wonders to restore the status of states rights and the power of the 10th Amendment by forcing the Senate to, once again, focus on two primary priorities - the business of America and the right of the individual states to control more of what government does within individual state lines than being forced to certain programs by a strong central government. The Founding Fathers gave up a lot to create a balanced system of government in which the individual states were not required to cave to the will of the central (federal) government.

Today, we discuss ad nauseum the abuses of the Obama government, yet none of us are willing to take the necessary next step to put America back in balance with its Constitution. We KNOW what needs to happen, but we are too cowed by a gargantuan central government that has grown far beyond the limits envisioned by the Founding Fathers to the extent that it is now a bully to its own citizens.

And, the next election will only change some of the names and faces associated with the abuse - it will do NOTHING to correct the course of our ship of state.
