:)
Ayn Rand was 100% atheist. I am not a libertarian but I will admit Ayn Rand made many great points about society and human nature
I agree with Harry Reid. This is not a filibuster.
This is a Seminar on Liberty.
And courage.
Hey, does anyone know if Sen Cruz has any single brothers? (Grin)
“I find a dearth of spirituality in what I have seen of her thought.”
I have only read “Atlas Shrugged” and articles about her. (I started “Fountainhead” years ago but didn’t get far. But you are correct. She is very much against any type of religion, or the idea of a God.
As a Christian, I just put her thoughts about religion or spirituality off to the side. The stuff she writes about government, self-reliance, etc. more than makes up for her lack of spiritual awareness.
Barry Goldwater had a libertarian streak. As he got into his last decade he veered left-liberal and would come out with liberal pronouncements that surprised people. He was not a Senator at this time
I think I might agree with what she says human nature is not. iow, agree with her definition of the problem but can’t agree totally with her solution.
hubba hubba !
glad lee is giving cruz a break...
I was wondering about the breaks, I was thinking he would be very uncomfortable,
I’m glad I’m seeing this, it the kind of thing you want to tell your grandchildren, and record in history books.
FYI - I haven’t missed a word even though I’m lying on my comfy couch.
I’ve never been more impressed and mesmoried in my life.
Tears and joy.
God bless Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, too.
Shame on all the Senate weasels and they truly *are* cowardly, DC weasels.
Unworthy, useless cowards, and to continue describing them I would have to swear.
...and they are still going strong!
I have no doubt these brief rest periods are used with as much precision as they're speaking.
i was told he cannot go to the bathroom though. no water bottle on his podium i notice....may have been covered earlier in the thread...
That is what I can not do. There needs to be a line between patriotism and idolatry. This is an idea that has only come to me recently. We conservatives rightly deride those who posit the state as the ultimate source of good for citizens. I have to question myself, asking if I delude myself in the same way? If we could only get the right people in power, would all indeed be well?
Well, if this hasn't shamed them...nothing ever will. It's going to be extraordinarily telling tomorrow when they either step up to the plate...or die on the vine.
He might have a catheter. I’ll have to read the whole thread in the am when this is over.
As for my Senator, I can’t say what I want to, if I compare him to Sen Cruz, it’s unladylike, but please, we need more people like Cruz in the Senate and in the House. I want America to be a great country again.
He cannot leave the room...but a facility can be brought in behind a curtain or whatever.
