Good job.
All the wonderful government “handouts” are fattening them up for the kill.
Fixed your typo there. You're welcome! :-)
True. kinda like the fact that every single bill before the legislooters is supposed to be read aloud in session.
They almost always have a "unanimous consent" vote to skip that. What this means is that because it only takes one legislooter to speak up and force a roll call vote on that, it means that every single one is complicit in passing laws that haven't even been read.
I think Boner’s new found testicles are merely a Halloween costume.
If you vote to strike something that isn’t there, it still is not funded.
I noticed when E-mail my rep, they only accept e-mails from within their district, are phone calls more effective?
The crap that Reid and McCain and the rest of them get away with is sickening. They’ve got all kinds of ways to ram it down the peoples’ throats. Yet they keep getting elected. I’m even more convinced that our votes don’t count. Even if they’re actually counted, they still don’t “count”. And before too long all the people will have is fake ballots and no real bullets.
We haven’t had a senate in decades. It’s a House of Lords.
"Any Republican who votes for cloture is voting to fund Obamacare."
ALEXANDRIA, VA Today, the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) called on Senate Republicans to oppose cloture on Harry Reid's attempt to fund Obamacare with a simple majority.
SCF Executive Director, Matt Hoskins, made the following statement:
"Americans won a major victory today when the House passed legislation to fund the government without funding Obamacare, but now the debate shifts to the Senate where Harry Reid and the Democrats will try to fund Obamacare. The Democrats have a plan to fund Obamacare, but Republicans can stop it if they stick together.
"Harry Reid needs 60 votes to approve his plan to fund Obamacare. If 41 Republicans stand strong and oppose cloture, they can defeat Reid's plan to fund Obamacare. However, if Republicans waffle and vote for cloture, it will grease the skids for Reid's plan to fund Obamacare. It's pretty simple any Republican who votes for cloture is voting to fund Obamacare.
"This is a critical test for Senate Republicans and especially for Mitch McConnell, the Republican Leader. It's time for Mitch McConnell to show some leadership and deliver the 41 votes needed to defeat cloture on Harry Reid's plan to fund Obamacare. Republicans like to say they are against Obamacare, but now is the time to prove it. Now is when it matters."
Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) is an independent, grassroots organization that advocates for conservative policies in Washington and helps elect true conservative leaders to the United States Senate.
That is Right! Everyone needs to follow this closely.
So anyone who doesn't prevent that is a supporter of Obamacare.
EVERYTHING else is Kabuki.
“...... Reids first move would be to schedule a vote to end debate on proceeding to the House continuing resolution. This would require 60 votes. Republican senators would vote to proceed to the bill because it would including the language to defund ObamaCare.
Then he would fill the amendment tree, defining what amendments could be considered in relation to the House legislation.
Reid would be sure that one of the pending amendments is a so-called amendment to strike, which would allow him schedule a future vote on stripping the language defunding ObamaCare and prioritizing debt payments.....”

The GOP needs to get out there and MAKE SURE this sight of hand by Reid hits all the “airways.” This is what the Left does. They stack the deck. We have Obamacare because they stacked the deck. Now they want to have a rerun.
“I noticed when E-mail my rep, they only accept e-mails from within their district, are phone calls more effective?”
Yes. Faster too. Keep in mind, though, that they use caller ID and can tell where you’re calling from. If you’re calling a rep from VA and the area code you’re calling from is CO, they’re going to know it.
From Senate Conservatives...
Democratic Leader Harry Reid needs 60 votes to fund Obamacare, but there are only 54 Democrats in the Senate. If Republicans hold strong, they can stop it.
Tell the Republicans to sign Senator Mike Lee's letter pledging to OPPOSE the government spending bill ("CR") if it funds Obamacare.
NOTE: If they say they SUPPORT bills to defund Obamacare, that does not help us because those bills won't be considered and don't have to pass. We need them to OPPOSE the CR if it funds Obamacare. The CR must be passed in September and it is our only point of leverage.
Roll Call:
“Updated 1:20 p.m. | Sen. Ted Cruz said Friday that Republican senators should, in effect, filibuster the House-passed continuing resolution in the Senate.
The Texas Republican is calling on his colleagues to oppose limiting debate on it, warning against what he calls procedural trickery.
Step two is the Senate, where all accounts suggest Harry Reid plans to use procedural gimmicks to try to add funding back in for Obamacare, Cruz said. If Reid pursues this plan if he insists on using a 50-vote threshold to fund Obamacare with a partisan vote of only Democrats then I hope that every Senate Republican will stand together and oppose cloture on the bill in order to keep the House bill intact and not let Harry Reid add Obamacare funding back in.
Now is a time for party unity; Senate Republicans should stand side-by-side with courageous House Republicans, Cruz said.
The statement underscores the unwinnable procedural hand faced by conservative senators, however. They know that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will move to strike out the Obamacare defunding language after getting the 60 votes needed to limit debate, but they cant stop him without effectively endorsing a government shutdown........”

Check post #35.
It’s a game of brinksmanship. I’m not convinced that the gop wants to win it, but you go with what you’ve got.
On Oct 2, the House should adjourn until November 1. Leave a phone number where they can be reached if the Senate wants to talk. Otherwise, go home. Fight the propaganda battle back in their districts. Do the same thing on November 2nd. If dingy harry and dear leader want to play hardball, then let’s play hardball.
The pilot called the airline and asked “What time does the 2:30 flight leave for Islamabad?” It’s a play on an old Hudson and Landry skit.
“I think Boners new found testicles are merely a Halloween costume.”
I tend to agree, but we’ll see. He’s retiring. He might come to decide that he likes this kind of role. Tell the Senate to go screw. Adjourn for a month. Then go play golf in some exotic location. Just like dear leader.
