Yeah, makes one glad we live in the "deep" South! ;)
I don't want to be near that sucker when it blows! Visited it once; all of the geysers and SO2 emissions would make me nervous living nearby. lol

Went there as a kid, saw Old Faithful, remember me and my cousin saying "That's it, big deal", two little a--holes we were.
Our parents stuck around for the next *big show*, we were bored as hell, LOL.
Beautiful country though.

Last week I watched on youtube (right before the little swarm of quakes), the BBC film, Supervolcano. Not bad.

As an aside, in 1814 my ancestors after fighting in the Battle of New Orleans, split up with two brothers (my ggggggrandfather and his brother going back up to Illinois) and one stayed on in Louisiana. There is an island named for my family somewhere on the Mississippi Delta, and a whole lot of “cousins” I don’t know.

I've got a whole bunch of cousins from Lafayette, New Iberia, Morgan City, Houma and Thibodaux areas.
Some I know, some I wish I didn't know, LOL.
A lot of little islands were taken out by Andrew and Katrina, where I go fishing south of Houma, 2 decent size islands with fishing camps ain't no more.
Still kind of a shock to see open water there, but still good fishing.

Triple swarm of earthquakes shakes Yellowstone From the article: JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) Until recently, Bob Smith had never witnessed two simultaneous earthquake swarms in his 53 years of monitoring seismic activity in and around the Yellowstone Caldera.

Do you ever go out from Burn’s Point Rec Area? Just thinking about checking it out. ;)

Do you ever go out from Burns Point Rec Area? Never have, mostly launch at Bayou Black marina or public landing out of Houma.
From there it's an easy run up and down the Intracoastal Waterway.
Usually take a side canal or bayou from it to head southward towards the gulf.
Fresh water, brackish water, then salt water, got to catch something with all that variation :)
Well that's all we need is for Yellowstone to start kicking.
