he’s not wrong. raising the debt ceiling will not increase our debt...

raising the ceiling allows the fedgov to actually spend the money, without paying back old debts, thereby jacking up new debt and diminishing the value of the dollar

seriously, does ANYONE listen to democrats when it comes to economic policy?

EVERY democrat giving a speech on economic policies should have a picture of detroit hanging over their podium

Obama went on to suggest that "the average person" mistakenly thinks that raising the debt ceiling means the U.S. is racking up more debt.

Well, NOT raising the debt ceiling will PREVENT the accumulation of more debt. What do you say to that, asshat clintonian word-parser?

This dumb m***erfu**er and Affirmative Action hire needs to understand simple math.

When you borrow more, you have more debt.

C’mon! Some of you actually don’t think Zero is lying? That he doesn’t plan on spending any money that he can get his mitts on?

“Fraud is generally defined in the law as an *intentional* misrepresentation of material existing fact made by one person to another with knowledge of its falsity and for the purpose of inducing the other person to act, and upon which the other person relies with resulting injury or damage. Fraud may also be made by an omission or purposeful failure to state material facts, which nondisclosure makes other statements misleading.”

Zero and his fellow frauds, and Those RINOs Whose Names We Don’t Mention in the GOP-e, want the debt limit raised.
Why do they want it raised? So they can spend less money? Gimme us a break! And have a little respect for us, even if you don’t have any for yourselves, if you’re quibbling over whether or not he’s lying.

I’m glad 0bama explained it. I don’t know why I thought if I increased my debt I was increasing my debt. I feel so stupid now that the Idiot in Chief made it so clear. Well I gotta go to the EZ Cash store and borrow $10,000.00 for 30 days. Then I’ll borrow $20,000.00 to pay of the $10,000.00 and still have $10,000.00 for that vacation. Then I’ll borrow... Nope I’m not worried about the interest or ever paying it back, because I understand Ubamanomics now that he explained it. I am no longer an Average American. I am an Obrainiac! I will rule the world now!!!!

The best way to fix a broken system is to SHUT IT DOWN, and THEN fix it.

Speaker Newt SHUT DOWN the US Federal Government in the 1990’s and it WORKED!

Clinton then took credit for balanced Federal Budgets, fewer people were in poverty, and all because Newt said NO !

The Liberal Agenda Media and the Democrats boo-hooed to this day, but Newt achieved success.

The only way to force a spoiled brat to behave is to punish, punish, punish.

The worst punishment that a Democrat, or RINO can imagine is to take away their ability to spend our tax dollars.

The best way to do that is to shutdown the non-essental parts of the US Federal Government, starting with mothballing Air Force One.

Why not have the true Republicans require a BINDING, updated, “Federal Financial Impact Statement” for 2012-2013 fiscal year, and 2013-2014 f. y. for Obama”care?”

It should take a month or two to complete, allow for a vote to delay Obama”care” for a year, and then show the great financial harm to our Economy that the Statement’s numbers will document.

Wharton, Stanford, Michigan and Princeton could also file their independent Financial Impact Statements to compare to the Office of Budget and the Congressional Budget Office Financial Impact Statements.

As B. Hussein is fond of saying: “We need to get all the facts first.”

Spending increases our debt. Not increasing the debt ceiling will cause defaults but it won’t change spending. Only Congress can do that and they don’t seem to want to.

It used to be Americans expected at least some truth out of the mouth of our President. Now there is none.

None.

On the face of what Obama said, he’s 100% right. Raising the debt ceiling does not increase our debt.

It DOES give the government the legal authority to incur more debt but raising the ceiling, by itself, does not increase the debt anymore than raising your credit card limit increases your credit card balance.

He’s playing with words, of course. We all know the second the debt ceiling is raised that the debt will be increased. Well, at least those of us who use our brains know this.

And now a message from President Barack Obama-
“Fire is not hot.
Ice is not cold,
Fish do not swim.
Birds do not fly.
Ignorance is strength.
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
I am not a Communist.”
