They cannot determine the trajectory of the projectile absent counter-battery radar. I doubt that the mooj on the other side have a Q37.

What they can do is a shell crater analysis that will give a line of position back to the firing position, but where along the LOP can vary with charge, quadrant and high or low angle of attack. If there is a close by intervening crest, they can maybe eliminate the low angle attack.

Reporters can’t tell the difference between a shotgun and an AR-15. They really shouldn't be trying their hands at the exterior ballistics of indirect fire systems.
