Do you ever read the book of Romans in the Bible? Do you even read the Bible? Or, do you just jerk your knee when you want to castigate and criticize the lives of other Christians?
I see a lot more forgiveness in my life, thanks be to Him. The One who convicts us of sin is not some guy on the internet. It is the Holy Spirit, who will change our lives as He sees fit.
Thanks for playing... but you aren't a winner this time. Feel free to cast another stone!
John 14: 5... All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Why are people so miserable in their own lives that they are so preoccupied with other people's lives?

Even if we go along with all of what you said, she SET a bad example. Still harping on 15 years later when she seems to have had it together for a good long while is not constructive or appropriate.

Gee, some folks here mustve been absent from Sunday School when they covered ye without sin cast the first stone and you point out the speck in your brothers eye but ignore the stick in yours. Jesus said lots of things - dont pick and choose the ones that are convenient.
Did you miss the scriptures that command us to rebuke sin?
How about those that tell us to judge righteous judgement?
Use ALL of the scriptures, not just the ones you think make your point.

So, exactly what were the reasons Christ gave to leave a marriage then? Could it be that a man who fails to love his wife as Christ loves His church, nor does that man love his wife as himself (drug abuse, physical abuse, etc..) qualify for divorce?
Unlike others, I won't pretend to speak for Christ on this topic. I cannot however envision that our Lord and Savior would want His children to remain in an abusive, destructive relationship. That just doesn't make sense.
Here is what our Lord commanded concerning Divorce, you'll have to do with it what your conscience tells you to do with it:
Matthew 5:31-32
King James Version (KJV)
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

It’s not a real church. There is no controversy in telling that litigious lawyer family cult to go sodomize themselves.
