“I suppose that the many thousands of other vets who go through this purposeful maze should just suck it up? Quit their whining and be glad that theyre getting something at all?”
Exactly!
He’s able-bodied. He’s doing the ‘my S wouldn’t be this bad if I hadn’t joined the military’ compensation filing to get VA medical care $$$ vs Tricare plus the tax deduction. Complete BS. Intending to sponge off injured veterans’ benefits. It’s worse than the PV2 that gets VA disability for falling out the latrine window when he’s drunk.
I could care less what points his letter makes, his reasoning is all “me, me, me, me, me”. So good rationale is wasted on self-centered intent. WTF makes his claim more important than the outstanding claims of Line of Duty injured and incapacitated vets? His sense of self importance, entitlement and dependency?
He’s not speaking for injured Veterans going through the VA process. He’s speaking for himself, hoping for a VA rating to supplement his retirement. Is he injured? Is he on a Cat-3 profile? Was he medically boarded? Does he even have a VA rating? No to all! He’s not speaking for injured vets, he’s mooching off them!
His self-centeredness is well known to me. It’s typical of marginal Privates and risk-averse REMFs. That attitude is POISON when it gets into a platoon. It breaks cohesion, morale and jeopardizes missions. I’ve listened to it time-and-time again from malcontents and misfits. What’s next, a diatribe on the palatability of MREs and the burden of camo netting?
IMO a just outcome would be a 15-6 on his A followed by a court martial, no settlement, and enough BS for him to write about for the next 20 years as he wanders around complaining about how “the military did it to me man”.
Court martial his A if for no other reason than to save all the injured veterans the distress of having to listen to his S in the VA hospital waiting rooms.
I say this as a Line of Duty injured VA patient who post-ETS navigated the VA system and waited my turn while totally incapacitated and disabled.
Whew! For a minute there, I figured the MSgt. was just applying for benefits he actually qualified for.
Never would of thought someone here on FR actually served with the man and knows everything about him and that he's just a REMF milking the system and robbing you of yours.

I served with and know many like him. They are the majority of claimants IME.
He is not being boarded, ergo he is not injured or disabled! Get that through your thick head.
The VA system is full of these claimants. Their claims are for BS ‘ailments’ which is contended would not exist or were exacerbated by military service. That is the basis of their claims. They make a laundry list of ailments and conditions then boast about how they got 5% here and 10% there to achieve their final percentage.
These moochers clog the VA system taking time and resources from Line of Duty, medically-boarded and physically disabled veterans who have to wait in line with these POSs.
These people are FKN Parasites and Buddy-Fkers. Got it?
I gave allowances for this angle.
Shinseki is still a horse’s butt and an insult to veterans.
It took them about 500 days to reject my claim!!!
