Thank you! I like Cruz, but he’s not NBC. And I’m bothered by how the story about his father keeps changing.

He was born to a fully qualified American mother living temporarily in Canada. He’a as American as he can be in every sense and more of an American patriot than any elected Democrat or GOP-e RINO!!

Damn the torpedoes, Run, Cruz, Run!!

This is an interesting case. As I understand it, his father came to the U.S. on a student visa and, at the time of Senator Cruz’s birth, still held Cuban citizenship. It seems Senator Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and Cuban father. Does that make him a Cuban/Canadian/American citizen?

I like him as a Senator but really don’t look forward to the divisiveness his candidacy for president would bring. In any case, it is still early enough for the issue to be sorted out before a decision has to be made. Hopefully, we don’t replay the last election where so many of us dug in early with the attitude that if my candidate doesn’t get the nomination I refuse to support anyone else.

“just because a mother cat may have had kittens in a cold oven, that still doesn’t make them biscuits.”

Agree with your post. Born here means nothing as proven by all the liberals born here yet they hate this country and wish her harm. There is no allegiance by birth.

Care to explain that?

Frankly, at this juncture, I don’t give a frog’s fat ass where Cruz was born, the only question I have is, does he love this country and does he want to save it from the fate she is headed towards?

Definition of DIVISIVE: creating disunity or dissension

Actually, it requires very little explanation. You can read this or any other thread where the question is at issue, and see hard and fast opinions on both sides. Until and unless the question is finally put to rest by the Supreme Court it will linger and probable get more personal.

On the liberal side where many democrats reside, the constitution is a living document and subject to differing interpretation as the circumstances require. They really don't care about this issue except as lever to divide their opponents. However, on the more conservative side of the political spectrum, the constitution is not an abstraction. It means what it says and logical consistency does not allow many of those who sincerely believed Oboma to be ineligible to now accept that Senator Cruz is eligible. My point is simply that if there is a fight over this issue, it will be conservative against conservative, not conservative against liberal. While we are fighting, democrats will be coasting to another victory.

Your argument is bogus and is based on a bunch of internet lawyer dorks that think they can redefine the word “natural” to means all kinds of things never intended.

United States code defines what is and isn’t a natural born citizen and Cruz fits that legal definition perfectly.

Besides, you are childishly naïve if you think being born here means also being loyal as we have all the liberal to show that isn’t true.

P.S. So, the only “divisiveness” would be you ignorant dorks that won’t vote for him, which is just a handful.

You know what, I’ll tell you who is NOT a good citizen: YOU and people like that don’t know jack about the law, about the constitution, or about civics in any way, yet you preach bullshit like this. You think you can redefine the English language, read crap into words that otherwise have a clear meaning, and then claim you are somehow smarter and more knowledgeable than everyone else. You are a piss-poor example of an American: illiterate of the English language, ignorant of historical facts, ignorant of law, ignorant of the Constitution and its meaning as defined by the writers, and arrogant enough to believe your own bullshit.

Wow, three post in slightly over 6 minutes. Impressive.

It would probably surprise you that I have voted for Senator Cruz three times so far and am quite impressed with him as a leader. That being said, it has nothing to do with my earlier remarks. Name calling, insults, and generally abusive language is a poor substitute for rational and reasoned argument. It was not and is still not my intention to rile you nor am I particularly offended by your diatribe. I would simply emphasize that reasonable people can disagree but don’t have to allow that disagreement to prevent cooperation on the overall goal.

“I would simply emphasize that reasonable people can disagree”

Horseshit! That’s a liberal’s view, a cowards way of saying, “I know I am right but I’ll never convince you.”

Sorry, there, pal, you don’t get to redefine who is a citizen based on some junk illogical and irrational reasoning and claim a fellow citizen is not. There is no gray area here. Cruz is a natural born citizen by every measure of law and you don’t get to say he is not.

“He was born to a fully qualified American mother living temporarily in Canada. He’a as American as he can be in every sense and more of an American patriot than any elected Democrat or GOP-e RINO!!”

All true, BUT if you were to read and understand the essay you would know that Ted Cruz is ineligible to the presidency.

If we don’t stand up for the constitution, especially when it’s our favorite guy, we undermine the very constitution we claim to revere. Obama alone will not likely set precedent, but if we keep running/or and electing ineligible candidates to the highest office in the land, we will have, by way of precedent, changed the constitution forever.

I am NOT anti-Cruzper se. I think he is a GREAT senator. He should stay there and perhaps become Majority Leader. For our president, I prefer Palin, then Rand Paul, but I won’t even consider Cruz because I KNOW he is ineligible. Even if he wins the primary, even if the Republican Party certifies him a natural born Citizen, even if he wins election and reelection, HE IS NOT ARTICLE II ELIGIBLE TO THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT.

The Constitution of the United States is like the bible in that if you believe in it, you can’t pick and choose which parts of it you are going to accept.

He’s fully qualified in every respect and if he runs I’m going to support him. If that cause you problems, tough.

Actually I did miss that one.

Here is part of your post.

“Those who wish to torpedo their chances, thereby allowing the socialists and statists free reign to continue destroying our freedom, our liberty, our traditional American way of life, and our very right to survive as a free nation are certainly free to do so—somewhere else. Not on FR.”

With all due resect, is that a threat in general and now a threat to me personally? I hope not. I thought this was FREE Republic as in freedom (of speech). I will contiue to point out that Ted Cruz is ineligible until he drops out or the Supreme Court rules in his favor. IT IS THE TRUTH.

Jesus said: “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life....” (John 14:6) Then you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will set you free.” (John 8:32)

“truth” Keyword search results, 137 Results, too many to quote, but it is obvious that God believes STRONGLY in “TRUTH”.

“You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. (Exodus 20:16) I would not knowingly do so. I believe that a proponderence of the evidence proves my assertion. I have provided evidence, compiled by others. Others have provided this evidence themselves.

Are we to be silenced, (ZOTTED) on FREErepublic, because you personally disagree with our closely held opinions?

It is your site and you can do as you like with it.
Respectfully yours, Faucetman
