Whoa, dude!
;^)
My standard response is “please define what you mean by XXX and explain why you think I’m XXX”. That tends to deflate them.
That was the last time she brought up the subject.
That fact that you drowned in the Dunking Stool is incontrovertible proof of your guilt.

AND/OR.....The fact that you DIDN’T drown is definitely proof of your guilt
I was doing Asphalt ‘Consulting’ work for a friend of mine that had just started a Company and my ‘job’ was to help him set it up and use my ‘contacts’ to sort of open doors for him.
Clinton was Prez and he kept saying he never had it better but he had always struck me as a Reagan fan.
Oh, I forgot to mention he was a Black, College Graduate, former NFL player - Offensive lineman.
He was a good guy and one of his problems was he was so ‘big’ he was intimidating to many people, so that is where I came in, I was the ‘bumper’.
He would tell me he was from the ‘Hood’ but I do know for a fact that his Mother and Father raised him, his 7 brothers and 2 sisters as ladies and gentlemen, 4 or 5 played in the NFL - one a standout for the Eagles for a few years. They all graduated High School and believe they ALL had at least a couple years of College.
I tried to ‘avoid’ racial topics when I could but sometimes it was impossible to skirt the issue and one in particular was when we were discussing ‘Affirmative Action’.
I conceded him the fact that when I was coming up, AA was probably not a bad idea for deserving people BUT we were at the age that I needed a ‘good explanation’ why he, a College Graduate, Former NFL ‘star’, should be allowed access for his children to ‘free college’ etc when in the same time frame of growth, 17-26 or so, I had played sailor for a bit less money than he was making - Though it was my choice and he definitely worked for what he had gotten, I couldn’t get an answer. I also had told him the 8A (Minority Contracting) programs were for ALL but the intent was why should someone have to work as a laborer all his life and NEVER have an opportunity to better himself - especially when the most prominent reason was because he wasn’t White.
I haven’t talked to him recently and I am sure we would have a problem with the current Resident of 1600 PA Ave.
Of course like the Irish and Catholics of the 60’s you will have to go far and wide to have a Black come out and openly denounce BO. Yes, I am aware of the handful of Blacks that rail on him daily but you don’t really hear it from the ‘rank and file’.
At least in ‘our’ presence.
Pffft. “White privilege”. What a hoot. That hasn’t existed in any meaningful capacity in anywhere but “Bumpkinville USA” locales for the better part of half a century.
The days of a light-skinned person being able to order a dark-skinned one to do anything short of pick crops for free are as dead as Moses. No white person in my generation or the last two remember the supposed days of privilege, nor would we care for them back even if we had a frigging magic wand.
Frankly, we’d just be happy for the Trayvon Martins of the world to be afraid of us and have LESS rights instead of the other way around.
