I think people who were not possessors of an official badge would be in much more trouble than the deputies are in.

It turns out that the rival gun-toting campers were both Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies. Is there anyone reading this who could possibly be surprised by this?
In addition to their criminal behavior, they can't shoot.
All they need is a bag of donuts and a dead dog to complete the picture.

Just good natured funning. The LAtimes excerpt doesn”t mention the music in dispute but I suspect it was all staged for a youtube video with the ever popular cop tunes:
