No press release was issued about the campground gunfire. The Times learned of the incident through a source.Brass trying to figure out how to cover this sh!t up and make it go away.

A few years ago at two in the morning heard a loud vehicle drive by our house to an empty lot, didn’t hear the vehicle come back down, we live in a semi-rural area.
Took my flashlight and .45 around the house looking and listening, saw/heard nothing. Came inside sat down to a bowl of cold cereal, I was somewhat wound up.
Before hitting the sack again heard tires spinning, now it’s raining. Opened back door heard loud music and voices (drunken)
Called troopers, not wanting drunk idiots wandering around my property middle of the night, especially with my younger daughters bedroom being on that side of the house.
Trooper showed up, turns out idiots were stuck, claimed no alchohol until they’d gotten stuck, so he took them into town (one of them was going to “spend the night” in the van) ,the other two had wandered down the driveway and listened to trooper and I talking before we discovered them so close.
Next morning, when I walked up to investigate, there was a van buried in mud to the axles with a bumper stick that read
STUPID SHOULD HURT
I sure as heck thought that was funny.

I think people who were not possessors of an official badge would be in much more trouble than the deputies are in.They'd be in jail...The kops on the other hand get a paid vacation...

It turns out that the rival gun-toting campers were both Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies. Is there anyone reading this who could possibly be surprised by this?
In addition to their criminal behavior, they can't shoot.
All they need is a bag of donuts and a dead dog to complete the picture.
