The problem (on this issue) seems to be a difference of opinion over who gets the blame for a shutdown. The TP believes it would be Obastard and the Rats, while the GOPe thinks it will be the Pubbies. I can’t say the GOPe is wrong about this...the Democrat controlled media has blamed the Republicans every time it’s happened.

Just vote for the Democrat running against Boehner and be done with it. We can afford to give up one seat in the House.

Nothing new. The gop wing of the uniparty wants owebamacare just slightly less than the ‘rat wing. It’s all about power and access to all that personal data. Oh, and payoffs for their cronies.

Get ready to welcome owebamacare in a little over a month!

“Conservatives can walk and chew gum. Fight both”

They are spending to much on Obamacare and not enough on amnesty. We can always go back to obamacare.

“he is not the Cowardly Lion, just a run of the mill hack...”

You’re right. The cowardly lion had character and eventually found his courage. No such luck with boehner.

“I suspect he’s been bought and paid for or otherwise compromised.”

Suspect? That’s kinda like saying you suspect water is wet.

“I don’t see them holding the house for much longer. The GOP has given me not a single reason to vote for it.”

Nor do I. I think the “rollover vote” will be immense this next year. “Rollover vote” in the sense that you wake up, realize it’s election day, and rollover and go back to sleep.

2014 is going to be verrrry interesting. The elections to watch right now, though, are in VA. That’ll give you a general sense for the way things are going.

John Boehner is scared conservatives are beginning to gain traction on the issue of defunding Obamacare.

Obama just gave him the perfect weapon to use to defund Obamacare. All he needs to do is to call a press conference and announce that:
a) Senator Grassley inserted a provisionn into the Obamacare bill that Congress must be subject to its provisions. This was in keeping with Hamilton’s warning that Congress should not exempt themselves from any law.
b) Obama directed the OPM to provide a 75% subsidy for health care insurance for Congress and staff ... not available to ordinary folks.
c) Boehner will obey the law, and refuse the subsidy, and ask that all House Members obey the law and refuse the subsity, and ask their staffs to do the same. [Note: this would be “LEADING”].
d) Boehner encourages voters to ask their representatives whether they will obey the law, or accept the subsidies.
e) If the law is so onerous that Congress will not live with its provisions, it should be defunded.

I'll have to agree but can't there be a Tea Party candidate to 1st run in a primary?

I’m not even sure that I’m going to bother to vote in 2014, and I have not missed an election since 1992.

I can see someone saying well if you don’t then the dems will take over, to which I would say so what? They already have.

Only purpose republicans serve is to provide them dems with the cover of the word bi-partisan.

I’d just as soon see 100% democrat control so that they have no cover, no whipping boy, no scapegoat and no accomplices. We are going to arrive at oblivion one way or the other, so let’s get this party started.

The premise is faulty. Boehner has absolutely nothing to fear. He’s Obama’s boy and nothing else matters to him because the ObamaPravda will run cover for him.

There is no longer a bicameral Congress, there is only the D.C. elite ruling class.

Boehner wont lead, won’t follow and won’t get out of the way.

Boehner won't stand up, goes limp all the time...

Only to have Boehner assassinate his character in ways that he won't against Democrats?

Better to keep potential Tea Party candidates clean until running against a Democrat. No more "friendly fire" taking out our side.

“I’m not even sure that I’m going to bother to vote in 2014, and I have not missed an election since 1992.”

It’s still early, but I’m thinking it’ll be a bloodbath for the gop wing of the uniparty in 2014. The consensus is emerging that there isn’t a pennies worth of difference between the ‘rat and gop wings of the uniparty. But it will be the conservatives who stay home in droves rather than participate, hence a ‘rat wing victory.

Here in VA, we have some great statewide candidates in the 2013 elections (will the miracles never cease?) so I’ll happily show up. But 2014 is looking pretty bleak. I’m not seeing much point in bothering with it.

Nothing would improve as a result of the gop being defeated in 2014, but we might find some small satisfaction in knowing it couldn’t happen to a better bunch of cowards, collaborators, and cronies.

“I’ll have to agree but can’t there be a Tea Party candidate to 1st run in a primary?”

I doubt there is someone who is that foolish. Any TP member who has the audacity to run against the boehner will probably find themselves divorced, bankrupt, and in a jail cell by the time the gop faction is done with them.

That would give me a huge amount of satisfaction honestly.

There are a few people I do respect in the GOP. Cruz, Palin, West, Lee...in that order as well, but these good men and women as well as we the base should go elsewhere I am thinking.

The GOP has emptied its tent and lit it on fire.
