This is wrong on so many levels. I mean, why should jurors have to be LEGAL residents? Think of all the non-legal residents (or outright non-residents) who might want to serve but would find themselves marginalized by such a ruling. Their feelings could be terribly hurt. Hopefully, there will soon be a protest to set things right.

if you read up on what is meant by an impartial jury, the concept of a jury of your peers is inherent in this idea, because part of the impartiality comes from people being able to put themselves in the others’ position and thus determine things like what is or isn’t ‘reasonable’ and ‘beyond reasonable’.

If we’re going to condone foreigners on the jury, how about the bench? Does it matter if the judge isn’t a legal citizen? How about outsourcing the whole process? Anybody have a problem with being extradited to Guatemala?

Almost 90/10. How long before the poll is pulled?

not citizens = no vote, no jury, no free housing, no foodstamps, no welfare. It’s common sense, actually.

One would think!

I would want a jury of my peers.
Former illegal aliens are not my peers.
This effort is total progressive b.s.

I have a problem with them being legal residents. We have problem enough taking care of our own people. We should have 10 year moratorium on all immigration.

Open borders, non enforcement of immigration law, increasing non citizens right and privileges are all a ploy to further the de facto creation of the North American Union.

NO!! Privileges, like voting, and civic duties, like serving on a jury, are for CITIZENS. How on earth would you expect people who don’t respect our laws, by being here illegally in the first place, to judge whether someone else broke the law? It’s ludicrous, melding perfectly with all the other libtard actions of similar ilk. You need a photo I.D. to use your credit card in some stores, but not to vote. Makes perfect sense! (not)

The way I understood the question to was, “Do you have a problem with noncitizens serving on juries as long as they are legal residents?” I answered yes. Meaning yes, I do have a problem with it. A No answer implies one is o.k. with it.

Let me clarify it then. YES, I have a serious problem with non-citizens serving on juries. NO, I don’t want to see non-citizens serving on juries. Does that clear it up? Thanks for helping me on that question.
